(Edit: I have been seeing some of the commenters on this thread think I was implying "FF14 was dying". By me saying "there is a energy I felt gone from the FF14 community" does not imply the game was dead or even in decline. The energy I directly reference that I feel many may have missed is "energy of seeing new players experiencing the same nature of the unknown". This energy can be boiled down in my opinion to a very select few events i.e. launches/expansions, that I consider also happening now with no new major content released such as mentioned in my examples)
Now let me get the blunt points outta the way, yes...Am I concerned that FF14 community may become more toxic?
Yes. But does this mean it will become toxic, No! We just do not know. But I am still grateful.
Why you may ask? Because for the first time based on what I have seen as a player both on social media and in game, there is a energy I felt gone from the FF14 community that in my opinion has somewhat come back.
What energy you may ask...the energy of seeing new players again experiencing the same nature of the unknown I believe many felt going into the story, lore, dungeons, and all matters that make FF14 the game that it is.
I am grateful for the likes of Asmongold, Annie Fuchsia and Bellular Gaming bringing this influx of attention to FF14.
I am also very grateful to Mr. Happy, Meoni, Work To Game and other veteran content creators for doing what they do of providing a voice and cornerstone that make up the FF14 community!
Why?
Because I believe the larger a community is, the more diverse and stronger it becomes!
Does this mean we as players should not be cautious or be considerate to others?
No! This means as players we should look past all of our preconceived notions of each other and new communities to react accordingly only when we perceive a clear issue we hope may never come up.
We are the FF14 Community. We are FF14. I hope at the end the day we all try to remember that.
Take care of yourself and one another. Why? So we can see everyone in Eorzea and beyond for many years to come!
