I am grateful! How Player Influx Breathed Life Into FF14 Again...

(Edit: I have been seeing some of the commenters on this thread think I was implying "FF14 was dying". By me saying "there is a energy I felt gone from the FF14 community" does not imply the game was dead or even in decline. The energy I directly reference that I feel many may have missed is "energy of seeing new players experiencing the same nature of the unknown". This energy can be boiled down in my opinion to a very select few events i.e. launches/expansions, that I consider also happening now with no new major content released such as mentioned in my examples)

Now let me get the blunt points outta the way, yes...Am I concerned that FF14 community may become more toxic?

Yes. But does this mean it will become toxic, No! We just do not know. But I am still grateful.

Why you may ask? Because for the first time based on what I have seen as a player both on social media and in game, there is a energy I felt gone from the FF14 community that in my opinion has somewhat come back.

What energy you may ask...the energy of seeing new players again experiencing the same nature of the unknown I believe many felt going into the story, lore, dungeons, and all matters that make FF14 the game that it is.

I am grateful for the likes of Asmongold, Annie Fuchsia and Bellular Gaming bringing this influx of attention to FF14.
I am also very grateful to Mr. Happy, Meoni, Work To Game and other veteran content creators for doing what they do of providing a voice and cornerstone that make up the FF14 community!

    Why?

Because I believe the larger a community is, the more diverse and stronger it becomes!
Does this mean we as players should not be cautious or be considerate to others?

No! This means as players we should look past all of our preconceived notions of each other and new communities to react accordingly only when we perceive a clear issue we hope may never come up.

We are the FF14 Community. We are FF14. I hope at the end the day we all try to remember that.

Take care of yourself and one another. Why? So we can see everyone in Eorzea and beyond for many years to come!

Even before this influx I saw new players all the time. Did none of you guys do the leveling roulette or Main Scenario daily stuff? For sure you are more likely to get an entire group of sprouts but FF14 in my experience has never been lacking for new people.

The biggest issue with FF14 is veterans scaring off new people from playing with crap from 7 years ago they remember about ARR being the worst thing ever in MMO's. Like have any of you ever played anything other then FF14 in your lives?

First we need to dispense with the idea that Warcraft has a monopoly on toxicity.

Must get rid of toxic in community. Sure.

We got our own flavors of toxic to be sure, its just not the 12 year olds screaming profanities in an xbox voice chat or the kind of hardcore neck beards wow is known for.

Ours is more flower children with opinions regarded as fact. Theory crafters that take RP a little too seriously. The "you don't pay my sub" crowd that are obstinately bad and never equip a job stone.

Don't worry. It's nothing we haven't seen before even if we have to suddenly deal with more mainstream veins of toxic players

While working on ARR relics it’s interesting having to compete with all new players doing every fate in every single map. It’s fun but also frustrating when it’s the fate I need lol. But at least their popping the fates faster by doing all them constantly throughout the day.

This energy certainly was not gone. For the last two years whenever I've visited other servers the cities have been full of sprouts experiencing the story for the first time, long before this whole thing.

I wasn't aware the game was dead or dying. I'm glad I'm not on Aether though.

There wasn't really a problem before all of these people joined. Things were fine and the player base was healthy. Even so, more players is always a good thing. Running out of digital codes for the game is a good problem to have. The servers are clearly under some stress though. I've seen a lot of people lagging and d/cing today.

Hahaha, I was working on WHM ARR relic on an alt recently, too. didn't compete with them. I just shouted to please let me know if X FATE popped and let them go at it if the FATE piranhas were too fast for me. Or helped out if needed.

I do see more sprout icons in the cities and in places like Mor Donuts and Gobbyshire. I run Alliance every day so lots of sprouts in CT there.

As far as Aether load, I haven't noticed any problems on Jenova. The streamer servers probably suck, though.
