Help! I can't swap back to bard after levelling samurai?!

I started off as an archer, then bard. Switched job to samurai at 50. Haven't gone back to bard at all since then. Went to swap back today and all my bows, bard soul crystal, and bard equipment now has an X next to it and it won't let me equip anything. Anyone know how to fix this or what I'm doing wrong? Would be greatly appreciated.

the bard hat is the one in the top left and basically all my bard equipment has that x in the corner and won't let me equip, including my bow. I can swap to dk, no problem. but all my bard stuff is x'd out.

Did you maybe replace the bow with something higher level? Class changes are handled entirely tied to the equipped weapon, and you need a weapon low enough for BRD50 to equip. Equipping a weapon that is job-only will simultaneously equip the Soul stone. If the weapon is class|job then you have to equip the weapon then the soul stone.

Remember to save a new gear set every time you unlock and equip a new job, so that you can fast swap via gearset.

I think that was the problem. My weapon must have been too high for the level of bard I was. It's working now. I will definitely save my gear set. Thank you both so much for your help, greatly appreciated
