Suggestion for a DPS meter that would not be so toxic

As someone who has played DPS for most of my life, I know that seeing how much DPS you're doing is very important and helps you learn your rotation I also know how toxic DPS meters can be so I had a thought I don't know if anyone has said this so sorry if I'm saying something that's been said already. A DPS meter that only shows your DPS that way you can know if you're doing good and no one else can see it so if you're not doing good they can't be toxic. I know that this would not stop some people from being toxic but I think it's a good middle ground between no DPS meter and a full DPS meter. Just a thought I had.

That would be better, but we would still get
"You wanna join the static? Show me your DPS meter. Drop the screenshots into my statics discord."

Any in game meter would be more limited to what we can already unofficially use now.

Adding to what has been said above me, the problem is, the more accesible such tools are to the average people, the more some are gonna expect from you to perform on a specific level and if you're behind other dps or what it is expected then you'll start being seen as "bad" and "undesirable" just like in wow, i kinda get that checking your own performance to see how good you're doing isn't something that you do on a malicious way, but it is definitely not gonna be the same for others, and if such tool is available for everyone, then yeah some are gonna demand that you share with them even if it were only visible by you.

how can people see a dps meter as toxic, but not recognize how toxic it is to have tight enrage timers on bosses where its against the rules to maximize your dps?

The fundamental reason is that having just an enrage timer on a boss the only thing that it dictates is that you have a challenge ahead on you, and that as a team you guys have to cooperate in order to perform on a certain way demanded by the game in order to overcome it.

But the moment you introduce a tool such as a dps meter, such feeling of cooperation disappears an people immediately starts pointing fingers at each other.

The thing is, a large portion of players who have those "expectations" are probably already using outside sourced programs to get full DPS/whatever meters on anyone they're playing with. I know some people in the past who privately talked about the one they were using, since they'd kind of trash-talk other people from their groups. Needless to say, I tried to avoid running anything with THEM.

Overall, I would like a DPS meter in game for me to use in order to improve my own performance. I don't care about specific info on other players, but perhaps a little bit of some comparison information would be useful - comments like "anonymous other player of such and such a class performed better due to use of certain rotations" or whatever.
