Does XIV run on Windows 7 64bit?

Does anyone actually play this on Windows 7?

I did a fresh install of Win7 on my SSD disk, new drivers etc. but XIV won't run. It does the typical DirectX11 crash at startup and I can't run the game at all.

Official Square source says they don't support Win7 but you will "likely" be able to play the game.

Had the same problem with my old travel PC.
I fixed it after I manually updated Win7 to the latest possible point.
That was a few months ago. Don't know if it still works because the PC died.

Thank you for your response, Curisu. My Win7 is quite fresh, installed it last week. But it's already updated fully I think. FFXIV launcher says my DirectX version is 11 so I think? I should be up to date with Direct X at least.
