Why suffer? The whole purpose of being a mentor is to help others, whether that be by giving advice or filling in the queues. Why must mentors suffer because of the ignorance of other players (and sometimes their inability to play at a minimum required level/intelligence)? No one in their right state of mind queues for extreme fights in DF.

The thing is, it's actually the other players who need to "git gud." It's usually not the mentors that are the problem. If anything, I used to cheer when I saw a good number of mentors in an extreme trial when I got one because I then had hope we might actually clear.

If mentors can't mentor and do the mentor roulette as intended, then maybe it's time they stop doing it altogether, or SE considers a closure of mentorship as a whole - which would be only to the benefit of the game, in my opinion.

I don't run mentor roulettes anymore because of extremes.
Its hard to explain a fight when the sprout tank insta pulls, or when 6 of the people are German and ask you in German to explain it in German, because we all speak German on Light...
Most of these people are not ready for extremes, they can't tank swap, their DPS sucks.
Its easy to say that mentors are the problem, but if you're there to help, and nobody listens in an Extreme its gets very obnoxious after wiping on even Garuda Ex because they keep letting thevrocks get destroyed, because the Tank keeps turning the boss into the group

Not if you farm it over a couple of/few years (which is what I did). There's only so much a person's sanity can take :P

Nah Mentor Roulette is fine, it's completely optional so possibly don't run it if you won't be happy with the duty you get. Though one of the main issues is that ARR extreme trials are actually quests you unlock, and they will stay in your journal list until you either clear the content or abandon it. This leaves new players thinking it's fine to just queue up for it through DF and they'll be as easy as their Hard versions, only for it to be far from the case. Granted some players adapt really well; with parties clearing within a couple of tries, but when you see warning signs of tanks failing to utilize cooldowns or healers spamming aoe heals with dungeon mentality even though people are dead, you can tell you'll be in the duty for a longer time than you had hoped.

Arguably the coil raids are the hardest raids in the game outside of ultimate.. Because every raid tier since has been deliberately made easier and easier for the sake of accessibility. Coil set a bar. Every raid tier since has just lowered the bar more and more..

Extremes are essentially a middle ground between normal and raids. They're significantly easier.

The issue though is that 99% of the game players get away with being lazy so they queue an extreme trial for the first time expecting it to be face roll..

The word "extreme" means nothing either. It's like "expert" dungeons.. anytbing but "expert" level difficulty.. in some ways you can't really blame the players because the game does stuff like this to try and tell players they're great when they're really not. so they can clear a dungeon of "expert" difficulty. it's not surprising to think they can take on an "extreme" difficulty trial. when the game is telling them they're expert level players.

I say remove rewards from Mentors.

Many mentors seem to think becoming a mentor is just some form of elite status that gives them extra reward instead of you know, MENTOR, it is on the word.

As someone who has played on the JP DC, i was able to que up to heavenward extreme trials with duty finder, zephirot and sophia took like 5-6 wipes but we did it at the end because unlike what some elitists want you to believe, people arent so clueless that they ll repeatedly fail the same mechanic 10 times and it only takes a few wipes+echo to let everyone get through the extreme trial

The tryhard elitist is the person who is going to finish their 5 pieces on this created to be beaten """"challenge"""" and then complaint that the baby, slower or less dexterous person are a problem which not only is toxic but indirectly implies that doing this basic created to be beaten task faster is an """achievement""" of """great skill""" which helps to falsely boost the elitist's self worth as that is their true motive, if challenge was truly their desire they would relish in the chance to do more than the rest.
The healthy person on the other hand will either let people finish their part or assist them for their self worth does not depend on solving basic puzzles created to be beaten, aka as a video game.
