I'm usually against stuff from XI but this is absolutely awesome! Come on SE make this happen! Stronger and harder enemies at night. NM that spawn only during the night and other very powerful mobs that only come at night. If this happens Im sure it will be in 2.0 and hopefully they are already working on something like this. Also Im pretty sure there was a similar thread to this one a long time ago, but ti cant remember.
At night I would love to see some fog with random enemy encounters like old school rpgs. It used to be you walked for a couple seconds then bang, fight scene. I would love to just be walking and have wights/skeletons crawl up from underground and attack you at night, add some fog and eerie music too.
I remember when i first started playing ff14 and it started getting dark and i was like "oh, i wonder whats gonna happen" haha, yea, nothing happened.

Nice thread!
I agree @OP.. I really look forward to scary nighttime effects in the game, and not just wights, but even more creative and interesting ideas, some new stuff.
This is a must, would really enhance the experience and immersion in the game.

yea, id love to see different zones have there own night time themes like werewolves ghost and ghouls.

cool idea.. maybe even see them in a group, pack of wolves or hyenas chasing after you.
Perhaps some Evil mages in mysterious cloaks, pirates, thugs..
Maybe have groups of gangs or warlords meet up and shiz breaks loose between them.. bit of fireworks around Eorzea =P
or some thugs ganging up and picking on an npc or even real players and saving their butts earns you some rewards.
hmm..!![]()
I remember this request! Unfortunately there still isn't a set time on when the additions to nighttime monsters will be implemented, but they haven't forgotten about it when I mentioned this thread to them!
I also made sure to pass along your clever ideas to make Eorzea nights more eerie and dangerous.![]()

These kinda ideas & threads will definitely enhance the experience for all.. and add more to the immersion and fun-factor of the game and less focus on grind, which is something we really need. Will give people more reason to explore and adventure than just shout > PT > battle > warp.
There's room for alot of creativity..
Come on ppl, spark up some interesting scary ideas for the reps to relay to the devs =)

Hopefully the devs take some of the ideas and expand on them, theres a lot of support for this and if they dont act it will be a missed opportunity.I remember this request! Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but making nighttime scary would also entail different musical arrangements for nighttime. I realize this would probably be a workload for SOKEN right now, but I think if you guys actually go towards making night time scary the music has to be there for itI remember this request! Something I thought was amazing in Xenoblade was the Satorl Marsh (the day to night appearance is awesome; if you haven't played the game I suggest trying to find a copy). Nighttime doesn't ALWAYS have to be scary, it can also be mesmerizingly beautiful.

Couldn't agree more.
Personally I think Nighttime should have a distinctly different feeling in each zone. Of course we need some scary places, but I would love to see an area that is rather plain in the Day and becomes amazingly beautiful in the moonlight.
