Totally agree with OP. Also during the night could appear some kind of NM like spirits or liches near cimiteries or ruins.

And i would like to see some areas or particular specific zones, darker during the night, with the possibility to see specific sort of gameplay to visit them (with lights/torches or other kind of elements).

I love the way some of you are thinking

Let's hope this thread gets some attention from a dev.

Was just thinking would be fun if there was a area where during the day the Gobbue's are all friendly and have flowers growing on top of their moss but at night they turn into ferocious Gobbue's

That sort of reminds me of the ladybugs in FFXI. During the day they wont attack but at night time they're aggressive. Not a bad idea ^^

The other way around, actually .

They are aggressive during daytime and also have nastier TP moves during the day.

In either case, I too think the nights of v1 were way too bright. I mean, you would get the HDR-glow around your character at midnight if you looked up at the clouds in the sky. That shouldn't be possible, really. I think visibility should be decreased during night, but not so much that you couldn't make out the contours of enemies and characters right as they enter the visual range where they "pop" into view.

I also like the idea of enemies that change behavioral patterns based on time of day, weather and/or which day of the week. Elementals appearing during weather is a nice touch, for example. Magic aggro was at times a bit annoying in FF11, but it did make for a more dynamic environment. What if elementals would only aggro magic of elements they didn't like? Dark spirits would aggro you if you used light elemental magic, light spirits would aggro if you used dark magic, etc.

I really think undeads should show up, and I think they should be dangerous relative to the area's level. Don't make them so strong that encountering one would mean certain death, of course. We should have a chance of killing it.

In FFXI, with wolves, skeletons, ghosts and "weapon" mobs, spawning at night and making passages that were safe during the day a perilous journey through a field of nightmare creatures was interesting. I don't really see why that would be so bad. Heck I remember early on in La Nocsea the wights near Cedarwood would Sally forth from their caves, and I learned the hard way that field wights and leve wights are two very different things... And I actually enjoyed running away screaming!

But correct me if i'm misunderstanding the op, but it sounded a lot like how in "LoZ, Ocarina of Time" when you'd run across Hyrule Feild and randomly 3 stlafos would spawn beneath you before you got Epona... No thank you that went from interesting to annoying really quickly.

I'm sure some would hate the idea but added to the foggy dark effects would be neat if some glowing eyes followed you. and if you apporached them, sometimes you'd fight a critter, and sometimes they would turn and run and nothing would be there.

That would be a creepy kind of fun

Also, it would be cool if the further away from civilization the more dangerous both the night time and daytime creatures became.

    I'm for this.

The night hours are usually the more scarier parts of a day. It's only natural for the "freaks to come out at night". I'm down with this idea all the way.

I mean, think about it, being as though Uldah is a merchant town and people are crazed to their ears about gil and the acquisition of more of it, at night thieves could appear in the Thanalan over-field hoping to loot locals and take their worth! Or, for instance, in The Black Shroud, Bogeys and Wights could come out of their caves and dungeons to roam the wood and what-have-you. The same with La Noscea.

I feel like these would give sense to why camps are dispersed about the lands. The Camp personnel always speak of protecting the lands, but at the moment there are usually any monsters around the camps at all (save a few places). This could be a bit more interesting if there were more baddies roaming the lands at night. The Camps could serve as "safehouses" from all of the madness. Whereas the night-time baddies are walking about at night, the Camps would be the only places one could go (if not in a city) to escape the madness. I mean, the camp is armed with a Battle-Warden and several other protectors who claim to be in defense of the area. I feel it'd be of more use.

Oh how dreadful (read: awesome) it would be to see the poor souls standing randomly about the lands laying dead on the ground because they neglected getting home or to a safe place on time!

Well... "Common" sense isn't all that common anymore, now is it?

Would bring a whole new meaning to "Hey, guys! The sun's going down. We better head back to camp... soon!"
