they did it in FFXI where bones & ghost pop when its night time.
they should do better in 2.0
I remember the Wights spawning at night in FFXI as a pretty traumatizing event when I was a little lowbie. A fantastic addition to make the world a living breathing place and would add a sense of danger that this game sorely missing.
Plus Wights in this game are great mobs and have a lot of character. I wish I could see more of them outside of a few select leves.

Especially since it was done previously in FFXI, and this game is made by the same company...

Make it happen.
We need demons and dragons hiding in the night, prepared to swoop down and attack lonely adventurers

yeah totally, XI had skelletons and such that popped at night time and made you thread more carefullyIf this happens Im sure it will be in 2.0 and hopefully they are already working on something like this. Also Im pretty sure there was a similar thread to this one a long time ago, but ti cant remember.
At night I would love to see some fog with random enemy encounters like old school rpgs. It used to be you walked for a couple seconds then bang, fight scene. I would love to just be walking and have wights/skeletons crawl up from underground and attack you at night, add some fog and eerie music too.
I remember when i first started playing ff14 and it started getting dark and i was like "oh, i wonder whats gonna happen" haha, yea, nothing happened.

in 11 you could see them walking around, which would be nice in 14 also. But in addition id love to have them spawn from underground with an animation showing them coming up.

Man, that would be so freaky. Perhaps to make it a little less annoying to travelers, have this sort of thing confined to avoidable patches of fog?
I'm all for anything to make the game feel a little more dangerous and unpredictable. I loved some of the first live events, with the storms and pitch black nights, and no music in Thanalan. I was really worried about going out. But a bunch of random level 99 mobs in a corridor I have no chance of escaping isn't really my idea of adventure.
