Warmage

Warmage does have some overlap with dark knights (see ffx-2 and ffxi) but ffxiv’s dark Knight definitely doesn’t fit the description. I could absolutely see a warmage type job in ffxiv as kind of a reverse red Mage or a dps version of a paladin where it mainly does physical melee damage but has a casting phase or something similar to ninja but with magic instead of ninjutsu.

Honestly that’s what I was hoping reaper would be.

Yeah, that's what I'd think Warmage would be too.

Or a Mystic Knight/Fencer kind of class where you coat your blade with elemental magic and strike.
