Can we have a PS4 equivalent to the benchmark please?

While I agree a trial character creator of some kind on console would be appreciated, its probably moot at this point. In the time it would take them to develop something for Male Viera, Endwalker will be released. Female Hroth will likely be in a 6.x patch and they don't release benchmarks for those. Moving past those, we've been told no more playable races are coming. While I do find it unlikely they'll stick to that permanently, I personally wouldn't expect them to waver on that until at least 9.0.

I think the point most of us on console have is being able to play with the character creator and save an appearance data in advance of the expansion launch. We all know the benchmark itself is up on YouTube.

It would be nice if they did that. Especially since the Benchmark lets you insert your created characters into the trailer itself.

This exact same idea crossed my mind when the benchmark was released. My laptop runs Ubuntu, and I don't think the benchmark works on anything other than Windows. I was watching all those other people play with the character creator for male Viera, and I really wanted to do the same too, even though I'm definitely not changing my character's appearance. I just wanted to see how it was and what I could come up with. It sucks that console players are left out of the fun :'(

I'm looking at getting a new one, but it shouldn't be necessary just for this.

Let me rephrase then, though I thought I made my reasons for requesting it clear:

It shouldn't be necessary to buy a new laptop to get access to the "Male Viera character creator and customisable Endwalker trailer" that PC players are having a lot of fun with right now but isn't available on PS4.

You are missing the point of the thread. Console players would like the benchmark since it lets you create the new bunny boys in the character creator.

It'd be nice if they temporarily released some kind of "Character Creator Demo" on the consoles' digital stores when the benchmarks (that include new character options) come out.
