Asmongold clears Garuda EX

FF14 players are mostly vicariously reliving their noob days through Asmongold, and WoW players see how challenging even an Extreme fight could be. Even if no one actually does min ilvl extremes from now on (and I doubt it'll become a thing) this is already a good moment for FF14.

Oh definitely, it's going to be a joy to see him do Coils honestly, was my first taste, albeit brief, but many memories from the end of ARR for me. Personally.

Seeing him do this though, and especially when it comes to Coils will only make me want SE to do Unreal raids alongside Extremes.. What'd your thoughts on that be.

I think that at this point not many can really dispute that Asmongold streaming/playing FF14, and other WoW personalities, has positively influenced the population of the game, as can be seen in numerous news stories about FF14 selling out, server congestion, etc. Since we all, hopefully, love this game we play, shouldn't we see any press that brings new players into the game and lets them enjoy it (stay or not, but hopefully stay) as a good thing? I've played FF14 ARR since beta but also played WoW through until Shadowlands (when I just had to stop). Asmongold has always had his on-feed/stream personality that can be a little toxic at times, but that is part of the show. Like any other show put on for views, his actions and personality during those is just a persona - a performance. So yes, his streaming personality while on his main channel isn't as welcoming at times as it should/could be, if you look at his ZackRawrr Youtube channel and see his ideas outside of WoW streaming and his 'persona', he isn't that bad of a guy and actually fairly articulate and kinda chill. Just everyone saying how terrible he is should think of his main channel as a 'show', and maybe recognize the good he and other WoW personalities have done to improve the FF14 population and bring it to more and more people ^^

I hope the Unreal extremes were a pilot study for what you've described. They should have some automatic Unreal scaling system in place...

What is the point of these threads? I'm glad that Asmondgold is enjoying xiv, and in turn I'm glad that new people are starting to play (becides the weird world visit issue yesterday). It just feels weird that one person controls people's interest.

It's nice to see him learning so quickly. He even stated that tank should rotate their defensive abilities. Something which many still don't know after years of playing.

Just... it's literally just a streamer? I don't care who you watch, but when it's talked about ad nauseum it gets really old really fast. It's like how on slow news dates they talk about 'omg this famous person didn't wear makeup!'

Just ignore the threads people talking about him. Pretty simple.


Truth be told, he is not just a streamer. He is one of the biggest streamers on twitch right now. Not only is he one of the biggest, but as soon as he started streaming. FF14 sold out of keys, and is hitting a boom that some don't want to admit, but showing the power of streamers the size of asmongold.




All of this is good for the game, and developers who deserve it. I think the game we enjoy getting a mass amount of new players, and more profits for them. You can put up with people talking about asmongold right?
