I hate the word "cheese strat" for most things please stop confusing LB3 tank as one.

People on this game tend to misuse the word cheese strats in this game. For example tanking with LB3 is not a cheese strat it is a function in the game that will save the party from dying. anything that stops any member from dying isn't a cheese strat. by this logic invul through apocalypses on A8S is cheesing IT isn't. A cheese strat is sacrificing party members to ignore a mechanic/ goodbye world on OS12. Sacrificing a member to skip/bypass a mechanic is cheesing you should never have to kill a member/members to skip a certain mechanic that is a cheese strat. the moral is cheese strats create bad habits which makes worse players I dont like them I despise them I want the community to be the best and ruining fights like os12 withgoodbye world really makes me sad.

Cheese is usually about a strat that couldn't be used when the fight released but now its possible due to difficulty decaying over time. Like tank LB in UCOB at the end of octet. When ucob was released you needed (90% of the time) the dps lb3 in to push bahamut to lower than 60%. With how the fight, dps wise, is a joke now you can ignore all the mechanics in the last phase of octet because of a tank lb 3 that wasnt possible back then. This is a cheese strat.

Isn't a cheese strat something that is not guaranteed to work but when it workes then it makes a mechanic easier?

Like e12s, triple apoc prog when you assign the healers to get pushed into different directions in hope that one survives to use heal LB 3.

Now that one’s a hot take, but yeah. I don’t know about required lbs though; I’d rather see more like in Byakko ex where you can decide to tank or dps lb3 based on your party’s preference.

Essentially progression phase tank lb3 would be preferred, but farm phase dps lb3 would become viable/preferred.

People are using this term for things you do to skip certain mechanic or to avoid doing it the proper/intended way.
If a party uses tank LB3 to skip or avoid doing a certain mechanic then it should technically falls into "cheesing".
