Lore accurate Raen name help

Hi, my FC mate is asking me about a female Raen lore-accurate name, but my Japanese isn't good enough to help here. Can anyone help provide a star-related female Raen name for her consideration?

Hoshi is the only one that sounds like a proper name there.

I don't know many other 'star' names, but Hoshiko roughly translates to 'Star Child' in Japanese, hope that helps!

Any random Japanese name isn’t completely lore-correct. It would need to be a name from the Edo period. You could try googling “Edo period women’s names”.

Exactly this-- also to the OP, I'd reckon you would want to secure a similar lore-related surname to go with it. For instance, one of my Raen male alts has the surname of Mitsurugi and his RP history is that he is a descendant of the Mitsurugi clan of Kugane.

Another reading of 星 is "Sei", which is definitely a name from the Edo period (and older). It's also unisex.

My tool of choice for such things is jisho.org. Search a meaningful kanji, search for names with that kanji, and done. For people less familiar with the language, I recommend this method to avoid accidentally using sounds that don't exist in Japanese (you've probably seen these people in DF).

Fair warning that it's trendy these days to give kids kanji names with only-slightly-related English readings (like "Stella" or "Tiara"), as you will see if you click the above link.
