Is attaining a house even possible in full servers?

Lets step back in time briefly to when Personal housing first started. Empty plots were plentiful, Few players had their pockets over flowing with gil. There was Lala in every yard, a naked guy on every house and that one player standing at their garden pretending to be farmer John.

Those were the days. I can remember when we got help to buy our first small FC plot in a ward with only one in it. We had like 3 houses there for months and things slooooowly sold. Even large masnions sat there and we eventually moved to one in another ward in Mist when the last of two sold and we got together and quickly got the money together to buy the last one. That seems like eons ago! :P

When I last played and owned a small Shiro during SB, there were SO many M's open in the Goblet, with the occasional L even.

Sad to come back and to realize that even an M is sorta out of reach nowadays through moral means.

That said, I play on Zodiark and from what I've gathered is considered pretty full. I got my Goblet within 30h, I just camped 21 Shiro for 4 hours debating whether to relocate during prime time European hours. It is possible, it just takes dedication which is luckily the last barrier that makes housing still possible for the willing.

because, back when FFXIV entered its 2.0 state (ARR with Yoshi-P), it was quite expensive to get even a small and it was a rather rare thing to obtain. There wasn't enough people earning millions of gil, or could save up that amount.

Yep, one thing a lot of people who weren't here back then don't realize is that prices used to vary by server. So small servers were very cheap and large servers were very expensive. I got the medium Goblet I still posses for 8 million when my server was still pretty small. Then they changed prices to be the same across servers. It brought the insane prices of high pop servers down but for a while it kind of made it harder on smaller servers since now our houses were a lot more than they had been.

-Give buying a Free Company house priority-

-Add more Wards so everyone can get a house-


With the random timer and players using bots to camp empty plots it is hard to get a Free Company house. And with the stress of competing to a bot i did one missclick and got a private home instaid of a Free Company home (this is my mistake).

Posting the same damn thing in several threads will result in the same response in those samesake threads. Stop it. Seriously. Think about what you type before hitting "Post". Your 'suggestion' fixes nothing.

Not without great difficulty.

Try getting an apartment first. Those are never in short supply, and you can still get a house later while having an apartment.
