    IMPERIAL strongholds in 1.22

Sure is ignoring open world content amirite? Especially when they force me to go to Natalan for Vortex Totems for Garuda, right?

Have you tried doing those imperial invasions? Enemies randomly pop up and disappear. It's horrible. Imagining Hamlet Defense with an open world would be great, but I never took into consideration the character limit.

For 2.0, yes, I would love to see more open world content. Hell I'd be fine with adding a lot more mid-level dungeons and open world activities. It's just not possible until then. Most people clearly cannot understand that.

Exactly. They're going to add more open-world content in 2.0 but it's more fun for Rokien to just ignore all the facts and rally on about all the instances being the devil and ruining everything the game has to offer. Does anyone seriously think the game is going to go 100% instanced or open world? There has been absolutely no indication of this happening, quite the opposite actually.

There has been quite a few additions to both open-world AND instanced since Yoshida took over.

    Instanced:

    Dungeons
    Primals

    Open-world:

    Roughly 20 low-level NMs
3 (soon to be 4) end-game Strongholds which are also tied to the Primal battle rewards.
    Shposhae (an open-world dungeon)
One-time 7th Umbral Era Events (Garlean Invasion/Lambs of Dalamud)
    Quests

So honestly, the game is leaning toward having a mix of both. Anyone who doesn't realize this is delusional or ignoring the facts.

all the strong holds are the same, all those nms are not even nms, all dungeons going to be instaced, content finder, hamlet, heck they are going to try and make part of the open world instanced with CF.

    lets not forget questchaining

I am not sure what you mean by this. Are you saying we have quest chaining in the current game? Or has SE said they want to add it in the future? I hope it's not the latter...

SE is going to be making quest chaining. Yoshi said he wants to create quest hubs.

How different can the strongholds really be? I mean I'd say they're different enough. Different beastmen, different zones, different themes, different layouts. By your logic any part of the same system is exactly the same.

All RPGs are the same: Start game, introduce characters, level up, go through world, kill boss, story progression, level up, go through world, kill boss, story progression, level up, go through world, etc... until the end.

All shooters are exactly the same: Move through the levels and shoot enemies, maybe kill a boss, repeat for all levels.

All RTS games are exactly the same: Collect resources, build army, attack enemies, repeat if attack fails until the end.

You can't make such broad umbrella statements like that when the difference lies in the details. What's the difference between Nataland and O'Ghamaro? Different beastmen, one is in a cave while the other is out in the open mountain plains, the classes of the Beastmen vary a little bit, the rewards are different, the layout of the strongholds themselves is different.

Honestly though I think you're complaining for the sake of complaining. They have been adding both open-world and instanced content. Your fears are pretty unfounded but of course you'll ignore the actual argument and just complain about what we're given.

Subjective, sorry we don't have unique NMs like the Valkrum Emperor or Leaping Liz-oh. Right. They were just reskins and buffed up enemies with different names as well. We do have unique NMs, like Courel, Chimera, Batraal, etc. Too bad you ignore those.

INSTANCING DUNGEONS IS NOT BAD. I DON'T WANT TO WAIT AROUND BECAUSE SOME OTHER LINKSHELL IS DOING CUTTER'S CRY.

As a mode of levelling. They're also making the world very open as well. Here you go crying about options again.
