why do people on this game hate old content?

Why do people hate old content in this game it is some of the best/peak fiction content in this game. For example os12 is one the greatest raids ever to be made in ff14 history there are very few raids like it if any at all. Es11 is also an example of a very good raid not OS12 level but good enough. Already seen enough of it on this thread but the idea is nobody really hates old content. You just have to realize that there's just TONS of content to do here. Often we we do go back to do old content, it's in unsynced groups though and we just enjoy the looks of everything and the story of it. What we don't always like is if you do go back to run synced, you're very limited on skills and all that you have gotten used to using. For example, a Dark Knight without The Blackest Night. Or a Warrior without Nascent Flash. And there's nothing really rewarding for going back except maybe chance for a mount, some gear you won't use except maybe for glam, etc.

What I would argue is I'd like to see them perhaps reverse the way sync works. Let us queue up for older content as lv 80s and be able to have boss stats and damage increase instead of having us dumbed down to it. But then they'd have to make rewards be something a little more current as well.

Mostly because content is gated or they have to suffer watching cutscenes they've watched a million times.

For me, I love the old content, with the exception of two things:
1. Alliance Raiding throws you into the same raid almost all the time, which leads me to the second,
2. New people refusing to learn the content.

I want to be clear - I have no problem explaining fights to someone, I have macros even dedicated to things like Copied Factory to explain every encounter. People who want to learn and take inclination of desire to learn, I'm all for it.
When you try to explain a fight while fighting, sure it's a bit more tough but can be done.

However, when you have people that just lean over at the waist, roll their faces across the keyboard and refuse to learn the fight - I really have no sympathy for them dying repeatedly, and messing up the fights for the raid of people trying to do the right thing.
#2 has become a problem in this game. I shudder when I see a sprout in an Eden fight, and before you can get a word out, they are pulling the boss and they have no idea what they are doing. It would take a simple, "Hey, I'm new here" in party chat and people would JUMP at the opportunity to help explain it. But, they prefer to faceroll it. It ruins the experience for others, for themselves, and their integrity in the raids. I play a healer a lot while raiding. When I see them do that, I try to correct the behavior. I get ignored, so they stay dead. They can watch and learn the fight, because it's frankly not worth it to the raid's time for someone to ruin that experience.

The reason old content isn't liked is because 99% of players are not looking for challenge. They want to play casually and unsync old extreme and savage content to get the mounts, with no respect for how challenging it is if you do it minimum item level. They may do the current extremes and savage because they need to for the best gear, and then have the audacity to complain there is not much challenging content in the game when they unsynced everything.

That's just how it is unfortunately.

sadly it is so many wanna rush to newer content (which is fine), but a lot of them also do the older content unsynced it doesn't take months to learn Kefka maybe a week of fresh prog? Idk I just wish this game gave more incentive to new players doing older content and for older players doing it with new players.

The only content people really hate is Praetorium and Aurum Vale. I mean the only reason people are not running Alexander Savage or E-Scape Savage is because the people who play that content did it already, and the only people left who haven't either don't have the time to work on it, or simply don't care about the content. Savage raiders make up probably 5-10% at most of the player base.

Also, to do older savage content the best Synced weapons usually are the end game relic weapons, which consume a lot of time to grind out. This goes for Ultimate as well.

Once the reward for a piece of content has been exhausted beyond that of self-satisfaction then a dominant part of the incentive to do the fight ceases to exist. - I don't think it's as much about hating on the content as much as it is the incentive just not being there to where the interest just becomes non-existent.

but by that logic once you obtain BIS/mount from savage Eden there is literally "no incentive" other than a parse lmao which is just for ranking/self satisfaction (ofc self improvement) but if u cleared the same raid 40404 times there really isn't much incentive by that point. I like seeing the player base as a whole grow and get better its hard for new players minus streamers to improve when they cant even do older content to try out raiding which sucks in my opinion
