I guess that my own personal grip with older content (speaking about dungeons mostly now) is the downscaling and restriction on usable skills.
After spending a lot of time at higher content/end game the restriction of skills do make the content I do feel more sluggish, even if it isn't compared to when I played it while leveling.
And pressing the same 2-3 buttons over and over instead of my whole hotbar isn't the most fun.

    But I can endure it.
I just don't find it as fun as higher content where I got everything at my disposal.

I agree in dungeons I don't care for it strictly raiding/extremes like I have played with people who do higher extremes/raids and don't even know what mitigation is or a tank buster??? mainly because they do everything on unsynced for first clears I just wish this game gave more incentive to older content and learning it for new players.

As people usually say if you ask them why they 'hate' old stuff; because it's well......old, not current....

And many of these same people also never really did the old content the way it was meant to be seen. Either they did it synced, where everyone is so overgeared that they steamroll through it; or they unsync it to just get credit for clearing it.

Take LOTA, it always pops up in alliance roulette and people are sooo tired of it because it brain dead easy now and boring, boring, boring.

BUT...Try running it MINE if you can, it's a WHOLE different experience!

I was lucky enough to be in a MINE run of LOTA a few months ago and honestly it was the most fun I have EVER had doing that instance. We actually got to see the mechanics of the fights and the wipes were just epic! Who knew Behemoth could be such a BITCH to do when you are ACTUALLY doing his mechanics. I think we had 2 full wipes before we were able to beat him. LOL

Syrcus Tower was another really fun one to do MINE. Dealing with Scylla's tricks was quite difficult on MINE and Glasya's jumping platforms were just WAY too much fun! Yes, you ACTUALLY get to use them on a MINE run!

Like these two look amazing. Older content like alexander/ Os12 and even os8 need more attention and more love. I love os12 and you all should love it too <33333333
Because there are a lot of people like me that did this content when it was current. I did the Omega raids and farmed the hell out of them even on savage with my static. I don't want to do them again. I'll help people unsynced but not synced.

Already seen enough of it on this thread but the idea is nobody really hates old content. You just have to realize that there's just TONS of content to do here. Often we we do go back to do old content, it's in unsynced groups though and we just enjoy the looks of everything and the story of it. What we don't always like is if you do go back to run synced, you're very limited on skills and all that you have gotten used to using. For example, a Dark Knight without The Blackest Night. Or a Warrior without Nascent Flash. And there's nothing really rewarding for going back except maybe chance for a mount, some gear you won't use except maybe for glam, etc.

What I would argue is I'd like to see them perhaps reverse the way sync works. Let us queue up for older content as lv 80s and be able to have boss stats and damage increase instead of having us dumbed down to it. But then they'd have to make rewards be something a little more current as well.

Now this I will agree with. Going into say Copperbell mines and having literally nothing to use ability wise feels bad. Like real bad.

Mostly because content is gated or they have to suffer watching cutscenes they've watched a million times.

For me, I love the old content, with the exception of two things:
    1. Alliance Raiding throws you into the same raid almost all the time, which leads me to the second,
    2. New people refusing to learn the content.

I want to be clear - I have no problem explaining fights to someone, I have macros even dedicated to things like Copied Factory to explain every encounter. People who want to learn and take inclination of desire to learn, I'm all for it.
When you try to explain a fight while fighting, sure it's a bit more tough but can be done.

However, when you have people that just lean over at the waist, roll their faces across the keyboard and refuse to learn the fight - I really have no sympathy for them dying repeatedly, and messing up the fights for the raid of people trying to do the right thing.
#2 has become a problem in this game. I shudder when I see a sprout in an Eden fight, and before you can get a word out, they are pulling the boss and they have no idea what they are doing. It would take a simple, "Hey, I'm new here" in party chat and people would JUMP at the opportunity to help explain it. But, they prefer to faceroll it. It ruins the experience for others, for themselves, and their integrity in the raids. I play a healer a lot while raiding. When I see them do that, I try to correct the behavior. I get ignored, so they stay dead. They can watch and learn the fight, because it's frankly not worth it to the raid's time for someone to ruin that experience.

Depending on how many new people you have in that content and how you approach it (going in "blind" for the newbies/everyone having watched a guide) I simply dont have the time to do that - I'm currently having my little casual static for Eden, I dont have the time for a second static. But a second static would be required if you wanted those new people to have the "real experience".

And I dont think thats only on veterans here, but on new people, too - understandbly so: If they'd had to take the time to clear this content "the right way" (aka unsyched, for me ideally without a guide), that would take away from the time they could spent to reach the current endgame content that would actually help with their progression.
My experience with at least some new people is also that they simply dont have the patience, at least not at the start. I've ended up in mentor roulettes for Ex-primals and all the sprouts got frustrated because we couldnt beat that thing in 20 minutes and actually had to discuss strategies - they expected this to just tip over, not having to invest an hour (or more!) learning the fight. Which, again, understandable: They have a full questlog, a bunch more duties they just unlocked and still hours of story ahead of them.

My FC tried a couple of times to get groups together to do old raids with new people who wanted to, but after a couple of goes they usually fell apart again, because no on ended up deeming going through old raids again important enough to drop real life stuff or even ingame progress for it.

...and for me personally: My static always had a casual, but "we dont look at guides, we figure this out ourselves" approach. So we often spent more time on some bosses than we actually would liked to. I dont need to go back there, I have my preciouse memories of finally killing it for the first time, I have my mount, I have my glamour... Why should I go back? I dont hate those fights, theres just no reason for me to do them again.

Little sidenote: Since you talk about new players needing to learn mechanics and the like... could you consider learning how to use punctuation? Your posts are quite difficult to read without it.
