Out of all the MMO communities, Ive experienced much friendlier and helpful people in FFXIV than any other community. Even FFXI which nearly required you to be helpful to get things done wasnt as friendly (though it was a close second to me).
I feel like the game's design fosters comaraderie in its own right. So thats good. But if you only look at the bad and dont look for the good, you're only going to find bad. So make sure to let go of the negativity you experience and dont wallow in it, because I guarantee there's far more good going on in the FFXIV community than bad.

You know, I've been playing this game for nearly 7 years now, and I haven't noticed any negativity from players within the game.

The only angst I've encountered is outside the game itself.

Perhaps something outside the game is skewing your perception?

Don't tempt people with another otter fest. The fact you started the thread with one just marks this thread as a please delete this. As in the past they've even deleted posts in threads that had an otter in them. But, yes obviously the community is so negative reee.
