Please please please square translate future life letters and events in english

I know i will be flamed for this, but our western community is growing and it would be really great if we could watch the 14 hour stream for example, life with english translations. Or at least all life letters with translation. And no fan translations don't count.

While I personally would love this myself, it's probably something not quite cost productive or the like. There is a Discord server that does translations when they do streams that aren't translated into English. It's called Final Fantasy XIV.

do you mean live translations by text or by voice?

By voice that would drag out what they want to talk about as the JP had to pause to give time for the EN to translate and vice versa.
As if they'd talk over each others neither the JP or EN would be able to hear clearly what they are trying to say.

By text that means everything has to be pre-written and leave very little wiggle room for a live broadcast to add anything outside of already planned script.

Fan translations are done by people listening at the time so they are probably your best option.

It would be ok for me if they published the streams with subtitles a day or a few days later. But it's just so sad that you have to rely on fan translations.

It's fairly accurate but not everybody uses Discord and of those who do, not everybody wants to lean on a server with such a controversial past.

Many multinational businesses manage to translate important information into the appropriate languages to reach their customers at the same time, so I think that it's certainly possible for Square Enix to do so as well.

Imagine having to translate every word in a 14 hour event lol.

I dunno tho, I don't feel too bad about this.
English speakers ( ESPECIALLY NATIVE ONES ) already have like 99.9% of everything catered directly to them, so I don't feel too stressed out about this.
Even if I'd like to understand what they're saying too.

But then I remember how the Japanese have to deal with the same thing constantly too, even devs have to deal with Sony forcing them to communicate in English even when they have no English speakers on their team.
    I think we can manage.
We already do get it for things like fanfest and it's honestly a bit awkward at times when they have to pause all the time.

So much of it too is just joking around, we do get the big points pretty much right away at the same time too.

We are simply not important enough to them, just some small western fries who are good enough for a easy cashgrab. Spending more money on us than absolute necessary would minimize their profit.

And plz stop finding excuses for everything SE does. A company big as them with such a big game as FF14 is would easly find a live translator to cover the live streams for western people. They simply don't want to do that because we are obviously not worth the bit of additional money that such a person would cost.

If they didn't care about us they wouldn't include us for Fanfest.
Tbh I do think that some of this feels a bit like entitlement, like people losing their minds because they *gasp* have to read subs sometimes.
Other languages exist and I think you can manage every once in a while to be exposed to that fact.

I mean I think what you're saying makes more sense on the other end, even when it comes to NA they often leave EU out of it and the EU is just seen as a secondary tagged on thing.
    Imagine how others feel.
It's not exactly like NA goes to great lengths to be inclusive towards the fact that other countries exist.

Edit: Not everyone in '' the West '' speaks English either.
This is really only about English speakers and no one else, per usual.
