because we realize that its just a game and if you want to gate players from content for not being up to snuff and offer no help to them crossing the gap then we would rather you be the one removed from the game than them. its simple, yet complex to some.
Hey I found clone sixteen! I thought I disabled that sphere in the summoner quest chain.. I may have to head back to Azys Lla to make extra certain this time.
I will humor you though, why the heck not. What kinda help am I supposed to offer exactly? When I am not queuing with friends (something I infrequently do anymore) and notice someone truly struggling we always assist where we can. Other times I enjoy watching them learn, tis more fun to experience the mechanic before someone ruins it for you I feel. If they ask for assistance I will offer it but if they do not I will not unless it prevents us from clearing the content. There are exceptions though. I am paying for this game to play it not to guide others through the fundamentals of their class. If I chose on given days or am simply not in the correct mood I will not help. If I feel that someone is beyond help, I will not help. This is not complex concept to understand and does not exist in other games.
How many matches of Overwatch would you stop to explain the importance of properly raising and dropping your Reinhardt shield so that it regenerates? I have never encountered this type of behavior anywhere but in FF14, seriously it is darn peculiar. "Please pay a monthly subscription to help me play or do not queue." Rude much? Really.. the heck. We help because we wish to not because we are obligated to.
"It is only game, why you haff to be mad?"
Well you see, there are these three other players (minimum) that are real living people who may prefer their teammates not to sandbag in a team based exercise. Crazy! I know! If helping them benefits the team then sure, why the heck not or if someone feels like being nice they can help for this reason too. We often do. There is a streamer called Violentdestruction I watch who does all the fricken time.
Do you know what usually occurs? One hour of bashing his head against a wall during extreme trials because no one is reading chat.
It does not matter what hobby or activity, if someone is holding the group back and refuses to improve (refuses not is incapable) there will be feist. It could be a band or sports team or any other recreational hobby. No one wishes to put in more effort then those around them for little to no reward.
I refuse to explain this again so this is the last time I am writing this for the clones.
This is a team based exercise. The entire team is expected to perform at the best of their ability before accepting the queue. If you feel you are not able to do this it is you who should not queue.
I fit into group B, the average shmuck. I make mistakes and misalign my rotation. I space out and forget to cleanse that doom sometimes. My numbers are fairly average. What I do not do is intentionally not press buttons because reasons. If I do not like a class or feel I play it poorly I stop playing it until I improve. If this were a single player game perhaps things would be different.
I care about the time of others on my team enough to give it my bestest.
If proper tutorials or more challenging content gatekeeps players that know they are playing poorly in team games yet proceed to do so anyways then lash out at their team for being upset then sign me up on team toxic elitist I suppose.
to long didn't read, tried to skim it but is sounded self serving and smug attempt to be facetious, i'm sure in your specific hypothetical scenario you are a golden god of righteousness... but none of it matters in a random queue where a computer pairs you with other wanting to run. its not your party its not your show to run, you are only as important as anyone else there, no one is acting like a sprout invited themselves to you static savage farm. yall are mad that people in the first month of their game that are still getting threw the quest line don't know the mechanics to a dungeon that they unlocked 20 mins ago somehow is impeding you game play experience, even tho all those dungeons bosses are easily solo-able for most that know the mechanics. and if not are at least do-able down one person who caught a mechanic.
get over yourself, or go play a game that reinforces your toxic behavior. i here LoL would love to roast you.

holy sh- dude, it's NOT about new players, is that concept so hard to grasp?!to long didn't read, tried to skim it but is sounded self serving and smug attempt to be facetious, i'm sure in your specific hypothetical scenario you are a golden god of righteousness... but none of it matters in a random queue where a computer pairs you with other wanting to run. its not your party its not your show to run, you are only as important as anyone else there, no one is acting like a sprout invited themselves to you static savage farm. yall are mad that people in the first month of their game that are still getting threw the quest line don't know the mechanics to a dungeon that they unlocked 20 mins ago somehow is impeding you game play experience, even tho all those dungeons bosses are easily solo-able for most that know the mechanics. and if not are at least do-able down one person who caught a mechanic.

for the millionth time, it's about players with possibly hundreds of hours playing at early ARR level because the game (and coddling community) allows you to do so due to the various nerfs and very easy difficulties the solo duties have
please people, please read more than the first and last page of a thread before you jump into it and decide to "dunk" on whatever side you dislike more, this isn't reddit
just a modicum of effort when it comes to having a discussion, please?

Are you sure about that? Because I'm fairly certain that this devolved into a diatribe against presumed lazy no-good slackers in general. (Or, perhaps, it was about Communists?)holy sh- dude, it's NOT about new players, is that concept so hard to grasp?!

yes? the majority of the posts are about it, unless we have read a different thread?
yeah, please link them, also ask them how high their /playtime is at that level!
OP is the one getting screamed at for trying to help, he isn't the one screaming at people
no one is talking about this
players trying to HELP are the ones usually being treated like trash and you're basically blaming them for that, wow
yeah, so why exactly should, say, a cure/medica 1 whm in level 80 content use DF again? they're not being a decent human being and should use PF instead if they want to disrespect everyone but their own time

"Im not going to bother trying to teach people things in game. Been there, done that. You get screamed at."
it sounds like he is saying he will scream at you, he did not say, "I get screamed at" he said "you get screamed at"
context here says that he is in fact the one screaming.
and if they were screamed at what led to that, was it them trying to be bossy in a dungeon where it wasn't called for, some people like to be "rules lawyers", if the see anyone acting out of their preconceived norm they have to set them straight, i got a friend that goes in to satasha and tries to make everyone do all the mechanics and gets mad as he is ignored, inface we go out of our way to trigger him by standing in stuff because he is such a pig headed fellow that we would rather fail than give him peace of mind.
he borderline harasses players to play to his standards, and its super annoying.
I would rather have fun with the people new caught in the magic, than the old burnt out elitist who sucks the fun out of the game because its his only merit of success in life. he is still my friend, but no way in heck are we going listen to him wile he tries to carry himself as a condescending know it all who just wants to "Help"
sometimes helping comes from a good place, but it gets ruined on delivery, sometimes, well, a lot of the times people want to help people that never wanted their help to begun with, and to levels that are annoying, and viewed as an ulterior motive..
they act like they want to help, but really they just want to tell you how bad you suck compared to them.
whether they are mentors or sprouts, new or old, even diaper potatoes, if they cant deal with other people and not be a PoS then they should make their own grp or go play single player games.
I would not bother, he is gone into the same stack overflow the rest of the fifteen other clones have. They are constructing a straw man so fricken big straw stocks are on the rise.holy sh- dude, it's NOT about new players, is that concept so hard to grasp?!
