considering the very first post comes down to "get gud" and "Im not helping the newbs" im going to graciously disagree with half your point.
i will agree that " most people that are giving advice are actually nice"
but not the people that are just smug neck beards looking down on others and refusing to help just to make their mediocre achievements feel greater.
Returned to see if any interesting discussion was to be had here in this place during my queue and welp. I hath but one question!
Why does everyone defending poor play sound exactly the same? I mean.. exactly. the. same. Is it the same person on fifteen different accounts or something? Have the Allagan's began testing their clone technology?
Also have just noticed the top tags for this thread and nearly died from laughter. Whoever made those you get all the kindest of boops for bringing much laughter.
Who hurt some of you?
again, what's the point of the unneeded vitriol and toxicity? can't you say it without insulting an imaginary enemy? always having to blame someone
if someone from the "bad players should git gud" group would make a similar post aimed at the other side you instantly have several posts screaming bloody murder about how toxic this player is and so on, yet posts like these rarely get called out
the hypocrisy is honestly fricking astounding
jesus wept

They judge you when you're asleep, they judge you when you're awake, they judge you when you're dead.
Big bad elitist boogie men coming for that booty.
Also the reason casuals have such extreme vitriol to this subject is because as humans we are all reward driven, and because one side can do something another side can't and get better results either because they don't have the time, are unable to, or weren't lucky enough, or simply because they don't want to they become resentful of the fact.
Think about it like this. Hard workers don't want Communism, lazy workers do.
Not only are they so inept and unable to see the natural consequence(some just don't care) of such actions they also are offended by you not wanting it.
You not wanting communism is indirectly calling them out for their inability to produce value in their social economic sphere.
The reason doesn't matter it could be anything from A to Z but the fact of the matter is that they've given up on producing value and therefore anyone who does produce value and doesn't share that with them is against them.
Instinctively they recognize their stance is a stance of weakness, you take that stance because you are weak. And because you are weak you have to preemptively strike anyone or anything that could possibly hurt you.

kinda think yall are reaching now
I'm so sorry i was condescending to a hypothetical ideal, i do hope you recover from the shock....
anyone doing anything to antagonize should be called out, regardless of sides, but a new player not knowing mechanics is not that, a veteran player harassing a sprout because they don't want to be bothered is.
so many people hold their head so high because they think themselves good at a game that is designed to be beaten.. they use that smug to look down on others instead of helping, granted they are usually the casuals pretending to be hardcore..
the real hardcore know how to help each other learn and keep the game a friendly environment for the sake of morale and completion.
these sudo elites that talk big on the form basically say to me that their minimum required dps parse cant carry someone threw content because they are alredy the carry.
there is a reason we have to watch cut-scenes in main scenario roulette and this community knows what side is to blame. the self centered elite that have no time for new players getting the same chance they did to experience the content as new.

Honestly you seem like a new fresh face with a very valid opinion. All of this is true and I'm sure someone more invested in this particular part will do a better job than me responding to you.
But the people on these forums are a completely different beast.
If it was specifically aimed only at just you and your post alone it would be major reaching, you're kind of just the straw that broke the camel's back on this particular section of talk.
There are people on these forums who unironically admit to not using abilities because they don't like how they look or feel.

Been a conjurer/white mage the entire time and haven't been contacted with positive or negative anything as of yet. Am trying this game out while on a Wow hiatus but not here because some annoying streamers or their fans showed up.
While you may find new players a bane on progression, here is what many of us are going through as we try to figure this game out from our new player brains, using our new player character in this new world of new rules, new mechanics and new expectations.
Many are like myself leveling on road to 70 servers and are just doing MSQ/class quests and no side content. Whatever hests, leves, roulette's are, we're not doing them yet. I'm doing the dungeons/raids or whatever that the MSQ makes me do and thus it's the first time I have been there and likely to fail non obvious mechanics the first time. We also won't be doing these dungeons again for a long time. I just made it through ARR post game slog and have a pile of expacs to catch up on. I am not going to remember that king moogle fight
For veteran players, you have done these dungeons/raids whatever dozens if not hundreds of times. It's not reasonable to expect new players to be close to that level because the Crystal tower may be old hat to you, but to us it's a forced raid we know nothing about. Expecting us to stop everything and read strats during leveling content is a silly demand.
From a new healers perspective? I do try to dps and heal and juggle that but I prioritize healing like 90 to 10 because I have seen tanks just melt so ridiculously fast and have to panic heal them. All the while looking at health bars and orange squares and circles. Now if I had done your dungeon a dozen or so more times, yeah. I would be more effective but expecting that out of the gate is unreasonable
The best thing to do is communicate with your team. Teamwork means more than "here to make your run smoother" You have to remember that Wow refugees are used to toxic runs where being new is worth being kicked for an overgeared replacement. You see a sprout, assume they are keeping quiet because being noticed tends to be negative. Even being generic with the strats can help "Remember, Dracula only bloodsucks of faze three which after he taunts us in bat form and we need to kill his werewolf minions except the grey wolf that's here to help us cause he's Han Velsing in disguise" Doesn't single anyone out and makes your runs smoother
Most of us new players will get better but if we are frustrated and feel unwelcome then we won't be around in the end which may be the goal of this thread in the end for all I know. Placing impediments on players to keep them out of content is an MMO killer. This game has a rep of players being kind to each other but this thread reads suspiciously like a git gud M+ Wow thread.
