How convenient. You're expecting people to believe that someone can play 2 DoT based DPS jobs without understanding what a DoT is? 60 years olds are still very capable people, do better. Next you're gonna tell me they play BLM without using Fire spells or NIN without Mudras?

We really don't care what you think or believe. Does not change a thing sweetie. We use her age because we are understanding it is harder to teach her gaming things that are normal for us. Since this and animal crossing is the only games she ever played, and as you get older it does become harder to adapt. That is not the case for everyone but it is something to keep in mind. How convenient. and she wants to level them all up. SO maybe one day she will.
Less "harder to adapt" and more "unwilling to adapt"
I've worked with very elderly people that can operate modern technology better than some younger adults.
Older folks just get what we call "set in their ways" because their habits are pretty automatic due to all the years.

Maybe, but I don't know enough about how age and the brain works to judge someone. Either way she is a sweet lady, and my husband explains things to her..but she does not understand. Like keeping track of icons and doing rotation and movements. It is too much for her to track. and she does just fine in the game. Husband wants to do Trust with her, but she told him that he will never replace her grandkids. (the twins.)
She's just not willing to put the effort into it and that is wholly her problem. It's a shame she doesn't because everyone loves a badass gaming grandparent!Maybe, but I don't know enough about how age and the brain works to judge someone. To be fair, there are plenty of 13-90 year old players who apparently play BLM without Fire spells, at least according to all of the 'anecdotal' evidence I've been reading in the forums. Never ran across a single one, but then again, I've only been playing for 7 years. Perhaps tomorrow. How convenient. Age doesn't necessarily make one good at video games.
And skill at playing a video game doesn't necessarily make one good with social interactions. It does, however, seem to involve a lot of anger toward people who aren't as equally skilled, for some reason.
That's true, but no DoTs on DoT jobs, no positional on melees- we're collecting stereotypes aren't we?To be fair, there are plenty of 13-90 year old players who apparently play BLM without Fire spells, at least according to all of the 'anecdotal' evidence I've been reading in the forums. It's not about video game skills as much as it is deterioration of mental capacities- I'm REALLY doubtful someone in their 60's are unable to understand what a DoT is if it's explained to them and if they don't have disorders along the line of dementia or Alzheimer's.

Eh, that at least is only a 8 potency loss per GCD over time. I can't say it's more effort that it's worth, as you literally just hit Q or E (or move the stick for a half-second) twice per combo, but /shrug.
Here's just hoping she's picked up a thing or two about her oGCDs, as those actually will make a large difference.
I'm having trouble believing the whole "doesn't know what a DoT" is, though...
