I thought it was obvious I was being facetious, though that seemed to have went over your head
DF is also for players like us, so you also should be more accepting of us
Sure I am. That is why I ignore you, and don't tell you how to play.
Is it so hard to understand, that anyone who joins a random group of players (no matter by PF or DF), should at least put some minor effort into it? I m not speaking of 200%-Ultra-Hardcore-Raid-Skills in a dungeon. I m speaking of basics like doing mechanics and not being afk 50% of your time.
But its just a game!
- Yes it is. But its a game you play with other people. If you dont want to play WITH other people, there are tons of singleplayer games waiting for you. But FFXIV is an MMORPG.
But I want to play like I want!
- Then go with your friends or find some FC-members with the same attitude. Its pretty impolite to force your playstyle to 3-7 other people. Show some respect and do your job!
I m a healer, so my job is to heal
- Fine. I m a tank, my job is to tank. I m tanking every AoE now and tons of monsters. You want to heal? I give you something to heal!
As long as the content gets done. Does not matter at the end how it got done. This is a MMORPG right? So understand not everyone going to play how you want. This is not a single player game. That logic can be used both ways.
Then go play with your friends. Again logic can be used the same. DF is a tool. It has risks with it. Like my husband said. DF being too good, would hurt the social element of the game. If you want a group to play by your own standards. Be social and make friends and do content with them. DF should have risks with it to balance out the convenience it brings.

I'm glad! :P
why are you and your husband so hung up on the be social and make friends thing? do you think all the players disagreeing with you have no friends? weird take, nglAs long as the content gets done. Because it counters all of your points? The only reason why this thread was made because people are not happy with the DF not being convenient enough. You have the tools to get around that.
For people saying this is a mmorpg, this is a social game. Well that logic does not work because it can easily be used against you. This is a MMORPG. Make friends and your own groups that think like you. Simple logic that pretty much counters all the points people make and the thread should end with it.
Glad I could help! Hope you enjoy my advice! Since everyone wants to give it in this game right?

Well. I learned how to adjust. Can you say the same about yourself? I dont think so ; )
"As long as the content gets done" actually means: "As long I got carried by 3 other people, I dont care". Your post just shows how less you care about social elements.
Using the Duty Finder is not risky for the most part. In my experience, most players arent that brain dead and try to do their best. You can talk, explain and interact with them and even when it takes a bit longer, it was still a nice experience.
The rest are special snowflakes.
What kind of logic is that? xD
I almost woke my lalafells up laughing.

The rest are special snowflakes. Many of my more amusing times spent within FF14 land were not "optimal" runs of anything. Many times I found myself assisting someone with mechanics or small bits of advice when it was requested. Medical issues or other problems are also understandable as long as they try and are friendly there is no problem! Mah! I will never forget the time in umm Void Ark I believe where someone apologized for having epilepsy and were so worried when they died. The group that day was most supportive. They proceeded to remain two on the aggro list for remainder of the raid.
