Theirs literally only 4 your 1-2-3 and Heat blast with spread shot no longer using your gun. Their is no where near enough for the self imposed gunner job they revealed back in HWThematically speaking only, I think that there are enough gun actions, they play a "filler" role. MCH should have more gadgets, inventions and machines.
But that's a subject pretty divisive... Some players would rather it be a gunner with sprinkles of machinist and others, the other way around.

About that, let's count.
Current MCH has 1-2-3, Heat blast, GR and Ricochet, which makes 6 skills using the gun.
Let's not count Flamethrower.
SB MCH had the 6 skills above plus:
Hot shot, Heartbreak, Spreadshot
HW MCH had all of the above plus:
Lead shot, Blank.
Which makes HW MCH having a grand total of 12 gun skills compared to the 6 we have.
Considering Blank was a mistake and meant to be used as a push back, its removal is natural.
Heartbreak was an ability useless 80% of the time, its removal only makes sense.
Lead shot removal is also natural as many job shifted from the terrible and repetitive dot design all jobs shared.
Only hot shot and spreadshot remains and were respectively upgraded to Air Anchor and scattergun.
Heatblast is bound to be replaced in the future, at least that's my feeling.
It's not that bad, even if we only end with 1 2 3 being the use of the actual gun.
I'm all of that design of swapping between different weapons, I believe it's a nice throwback to FPS like Doom and Wolfenstein that encourages you to use different weapons.
Oh yeah and there was grenado shot but we can count is as the same as Spreadshot, both had the same utility.
