Besides, we WANT people to stream and show how good FFXIV is as that's free PR for FFXIV, and it helps get more subs, which gets SE more money, and us more stuff.
People do stream this game, A LOT of people, i'm sure you already know that, and i'm not trying to make light of the situation, but this person's situation is vastly different.

Here's just a small example of the point I'm trying to get across; last week when the Black Chocobo Twitch event began, I was watching a SE sponsored stream by a older Australian lady and her husband as they were trying out FFXIV, they were leveling and inviting her viewers over to her server to hang out with her while they were going through the story; I went over to her server, and it was nice and pleasant.

She hasn't been streaming for long, but she has a very wholesome following and it's not that small, she already has a sponsorship with AMD; and her and her husband seem to be really enjoying the game.

No one bothered or pestered her or her husband, no large whale mounts blocking the NPC's... do you see where I'm getting at?

I don't approve of harassment, but popularity comes with it's own set of problems and responsibilities, and while I don't endorse what happened to that popular streamer; I wasn't surprised in the least that he was messed around with, because being famous comes at a cost; in a perfect world it shouldn't, but it just does.

But otherwise, i do agree with you wholeheartedly; i gave you that like, more people streaming FFXIV is a good thing; but the behavior of the streamer matters, and i firmly believe this popular streamer just wasn't taking any responsibility or measures to ensure he'd have a quality and conflict-free stream.

Agreed, but after watching him on stream for those two days (mostly out of curiosity the first day, and to see how he'd handle Copperbell's second boss fight and if he'd screw up Ifrit), I'm not entirely sure if he's going to be doing the entire WoW shtick in FFXIV. If Asmongold behaves in FFXIV like he does in WoW and it breaks our community code, then he should get punished for it.

That said, if Asmongold has already pointed out that if he doesn't document a normal MSQ progression (which means stream it) where he's actually going through things normally (and not skipping cutscenes or boosting), then any criticism he may have about FFXIV is going to be nullified.

In any case, we should be reasonably accommodating to the streamers because they are helping bring in more warriors of light for us to play with. Hopefully FFXIV will be a positive impact on Asmongold, but when you have a stream that hits #3 on Twitch (which one of his FFXIV streams did) then SE should do what they can to help mitigate the problems that occur. Asmongold may be the most notable of the WoW streamers poking around in FFXIV, but he won't be the last. I mean, both Zepla and myself are ex-WoW players, as are plenty of others around here.
