    Why Eureka, Bozja (open world part), FATEs, dungeons are all so boring

    It really is so simple:

    The jobs are so braindead and so unfun to play. I had fun playing a Lv 40 dungeon in Heavensward because many jobs back then were complicated, every healer needed to deal with Cleric Stance which means there's so much room to min-max.

    Now, no thanks, when you AoE it's just basically 1-2-3, 1-2-3 on every job (and healers it's 1-1-1-1), that's why FATEs are so boring, why skirmishes are so boring, why Eureka is the most boring thing they released before Pyros actions, etc., probably even more boring than Diadem. Actually what made Anemos fun wasn't the gameplay at all, it's the fact that it was so boring most people AFK and the spawners get upset and complain and people start fights over leeching all the time in shout chat, that was the only fun part of Anemos: when your combat is so boring that people start drama over it.

    How about they make jobs actually fun again ? Hmm ?

    Cleric Stance sucked and isn't fun and I refuse to take anything anyone championing it says seriously. It is not thrilling to have to press a mode switch button, it's just technical inputs for the sake of having technical inputs.

    I was there. I did it. I was good at it. It still sucked and it still wasn't fun. It's a junk filler button that some people hold up as the pinnacle of technical mastery because you had to... remember to press a button to switch modes. Are you forgetting you're playing a game where fights are tightly choreographed? There was never any complexity in it that wasn't your party doing stupid things.

    Cleric Stance was alright. Like stances in general, SE ran into the issue that some people couldn't use them or stance dance. The logic for removing it makes sense, but I also found Cleric Stance alright, personally.

    100% agreed. Cleric Stance can burn in hell forever. Good riddance to that trash.

The structure of content hasn't actually changed that much, the difference was back in expansions like Stormblood was that we were willing to let the design of things like dungeons slide because the jobs were simply more fun to play. They were a sandbox for us to use our kits in, and now that job design is severely lacking in personality or depth, the faults of both content design and jobs become more apparent.

    We're supposed to believe you were good at it without you showing us a single on-patch Savage kill in any expansion ? Hmm ?

    Anyone can say "I was good at it". Where's the evidence ?

    Thank you, that's basically what I'm saying. Also Stormblood actually had really boring jobs too, like Paladin, but the fun jobs in Stormblood like Astrologian is what carried it, now every job is as boring as ARR Paladin, maybe except BLM.

    I don't even really mind stances when they change how you play and allow you to prioritize what you're doing at the moment. The thing about Cleric Stance is that it is not really choosing your priority - it is choosing what you are permitted to do, because everything in the other mode becomes worthless when you activate it and vice versa.

    I don't think Deliverance/Defiance would be nearly so fondly remembered if you could only press your aggro 1-2-3 and mitigations in Defiance and everything else except those in Deliverance. Maybe I'm wrong about that - but if I am, then I will at least die on this hill swearing that everyone who would still remember it fondly like that has terrible taste.

    Actually yes you're wrong about that, you never use Inner Beast after prog, you want Fell Cleave.
