Fog weather at 8am in Central Thanalan, when in this century???

I decided to go about and do my sightseeing log for a change, and whilst the ARR sightseeing locations are a little frustrating with their time and weather requirements none has given me more grief than sightseeing log #17.

#17 is The Ruins of Sil'dih in Central Thanalan which requires you to fall halfway down a cliff and then do a /lookout between the hours of 8am-12pm during fog weather. Here's the problem though - I have never ever seen fog weather during 8am-12pm, it's only ever present between 12am-8am. Even doing my /lookout at 8am on the dot doesn't count despite the fog lingering for at least another 5 mins in the game. So, what am I to do? It's been several days (weeks even!) and I've been watching Garland Tools like a hawk for that one chance that fog weather will last through to noon but it seems like a super rare occurrance and it's the only entry preventing me from opening the next chapter of the ARR sightseeeing locations.

rng is a cool concept huh.

Also make sure you check the weather npc before wasting your time waiting for it.

This reminds me of unlocking Carbuncle in FF11.

Regularly check the weather NPCs when your screwing around in town. When you see it in the next upcoming correct time a lot, go for it.

Despite the weather changing somewhat fluidly in appearance, the system’s weather switches exactly on the determined time (see weather icon by compass).

While searching for some info about it (it’s log #17 btw not #7) I came across this website that helps track these things.

    https://tylian.net/sslog/

As of 1:21pm EST it lists that log being available to complete in 12 hours.

Here's a website that helps with the ARR sightseeing log

    https://tylian.net/sslog/

Below the ingame time, it lists the approximate real time wait for the next window.

Edit: looks like Eclipse just beat me with the info

Use the tool that the two above me provided for that instead of looking directly at the weather.
But yeah, a lot of the ARR places suck. I just finished it a week ago finally and a lot of places have rare weather and time.

Thanks for correcting that error, and oh wow that site is so much better for tracking this! Way better than staring at Garland Tools every few hours to see if fog will appear some time later. Thanks for sharing that! 11 hours, hmm that'll be 6am my time. I'll have to set an alarm for it. :P
