    Honestly, I wouldn't mind having to step apart (i.e., to a different bank of members) while in the Far East, the First Shard, etc., so long as I get to keep any other benefits of using a Squadron over using a Trust.

    That means actually getting to tell the story NPCs what to do, for starters. By all means, beef up the enemy HP values a bit in ShB AI-Party runs to compensate for their finally being able to AoE and so forth, but we shouldn't be losing functionality, let alone enjoyable agency.

    In that way, each expansion (or each after HW) that takes us somewhere completely apart at least gives us a reset or catch-up threshold. You didn't have time to level your Squadrons to Stormblood level before hitting Stormblood dungeons in Othgard? Not a problem; you've got the story NPCs available for the first run, and you gather further Squadron members while in the Far East, filling a separate pool, hitting enough for a full Squad run by level 64 or so. Maybe in Shadowbringers, those story NPCs truly become your squadron for the First; if so, fine... as long as they maintain at least all of the functionality we're used to.

    You can already mash your keyboard without even thinking what you're doing and clearing.
    This was my reaction. The post patch dungeons have just been seemingly lazily done, with little to no depth in mechanics and mob packs just absolutely melt. I really don’t know how they could be streamlined even more but if it is indeed the case, i’ve lost hope on them making the jobs more complex again like the past, and instead they might be simplifying the jobs even more. It’s sad tbh.

    Fairly certain it was the first LL in relation to 6.0? Or it was the first fanfest itself. I just remember him saying it because i was a absolutely flabbergasted at it.

    Maybe future dungeons will have your characters run on auto pilot, dealing with "trash" on their own in a very cinematic but non-interactive fashion, and then you're given back control when you reach a boss. And all treasure chests are open automatically... or something.

    So, I look up the definition of "streamline" to be certain, and based on the definition, dungeons could certainly be more streamlined by having less trash and shorter paths between bosses. People have different expectations on pull size, so making it so that single pull and wall-to-wall pull actually mean the same thing would streamline the dungeon.

They’ve already dumbed down the jobs so much that most of them are boring and stale as it is, but now they’re going to streamline the dungeons even more than they’ve done this expansion? What is the point? They seem to just want to make everything easier and take things away rather than give things and address the problems players have.

    I think it depends on the problem.

    Streamlining the pull size would benefit both those who don't want to be overwhelmed by large pulls and those who don't want to be slowed down by single pulls.

    And this also reflects on trials and raids as trash/adds have been reduced over time.

    If they do that they could just change the name of the game by FFXIV Arena since the only combat content you are going to see will be almost exclusively inside instanced circle/squared zones, i hope they don't do that since im really tired of how much they are dumping down everything, at this rate they could make eventualy a mobile version of the game.
