Please revert the changes made to the difficulty to the Sapphire Weapon solo fight

I have done that solo fight on three different characters. I have NEVER had ANY issues with it on any character whatsoever. It was completed first try on all three. I did NOT even need to lower the difficulty whatsoever. All of which were done before patch 5.5

However, attempting on a fourth character, it has been failed attempt after failed attempt over and over, even on very easy. Sapphire Weapon now all of a sudden hits MUCH harder, even with that Aegis defense ability. A move that used to do maybe 25% damage now leaves me with just 10% health from being topped off even with the defensive mitigation move activated.

The move (cannot remember the name) that deals damage in a straight line is now no longer guaranteed to work. It seems RNG based now. this causes me to have to use it multiple times on self destructing mines before they are destroyed. This often causes a failed duty as they explode. What is even worse, after the move fails, I am required to wait a GCD to use it again.

This character is the first to attempt this duty AFTER 5.5 and is the FIRST to fail MULTIPLE times. that solo fight was OBVIOUSLY changed in either 5.5, 5.55, or 5.57.

Please revert these changes to the fight because the changes made the fight MUCH more difficult. The Crown of Immaculate Extreme is not even this difficult.

Final patches are meant to help people catch up, NOT make it more difficult for people to catch up. These changes NEED to be reverted immediately.

Can you provide the patch notes for these changes so we know what we're looking at?
I control+Fed through them and couldn't find a mention of Sapphire changes on any of them.

Maybe others who have cleared it since 5.5 went live can come in and offer tips on how to survive.

Edit to add: I've not played this quest so I don't know if class matters in this quest or not.

I keep getting wiped out no matter what I do as well. I get to Sapphires final attack, and even getting him to 0.9% health, only to still get wiped out even with the stupid shield, that drains my main attack resources, put up at the last second.

I'm not likely to revisit this part of the story until something is redressed about this. No fancy mount from the other Weapons is worth this crap.

You arent meant to survive his last attack(Flood Ray if i remember right). Trying to shield through it is pointless, this is his enrage mechanic. When he goes into the final attack the script wants you to kill the things that are shielding him(i think Cid even tells you to ignore the little bits, though you do have time to kill them if you use the beam), then go all out attacking him to finish the fight before he can get his final attack off. If this DPS check is one youre struggling with i would say to try using the Pyretic Booster(think thats the name of the setting that boosts damage and speed), try throwing a Mine out at the boss(as i recall this boosted the damage that the target took though i dont remember the full name of the move), and keep spamming your attack combo.

I've never been able to complete this duty - enrage goes off at half HP left even on Very Easy - and it's affected me so badly that just thinking about trying again makes me despondent. GM's won't mark it complete for me so I can get to the party trials.. I don't know what else to do.

Probably attack him more.
Any time you're not doing something, be doing something. There are some needed dodging sure, but that's at least something.
None of these fights are hard, the easier difficulty options are there for those who haven't yet figured out to always be casting.
