Thoughts on the races.

I’ve actually played as every race for a bit, and all genders as well. So I don’t really have any that I don’t like at least partially. My favorites though are Roegadyn males, Highlander Hyur males, Au Ra females, and Hrothgar.

All in all I wish the races were a little more out there. Only the hrothgar really feel like they're stepping outside of the box at all. But on what we have:

Hyur: Your standard human race, not too much to say but I like that highlanders get to be beefier for different body builds. My RP main is a midlander but female highlander are my favorite PC model. These are what i play most. (Yes)

Miqo'te: Not a big fan of the cat ears thing myself. Not really my thing, I prefer hyur. (no)

lalafel: I don't normally go for small races in general. I might consider it if they were more like say WoW gnomes but their proportions and emotes etc are off putting to me. Not my cup of tea. (No)

Roegadyn: They're a bit too far on the 'strong and buff' end of the scale for me, highlander is my happy medium there, so I don't really play them either. (No)

Elezen: I normally like elves but their proportions just don't feel right to me and I can't make one that I'm satisfied with. So...(no)

Au Ra: I kind of like them, but wish the women were more like their badass concept art. They're a little two waifu-y for me now, but if they had something more badass for the women, especially the Xaela, I'd be more into it. I do have alts of them now and then though, so (yes but barely.)

Viera: Love their proportions but the bunny ears kill it for me. Give me viera with elf ears or something instead and I'd be sold. (Almost but not quite.)

Hrothgar: While I appreciate them for the variety they bring to the roster, they're not my thing. (no)

Hyur- To me the Midlanders are just right. The only thing I don't like about them is the goofy running animations. As for the Highlanders, I'm not a fan of the big buff races. (Yes for Midlanders, No for Highlanders)

Miqo'te- There's so many of them and they all look exactly the same. (Absolutely not)

Lalafell- I've never been a fan of the small cutesy races in games. Plus, almost all of the negative encounters I've had in game have been from Lalafell players. (No)

Roegadyn- Once again, not a fan of the big buff races. (No)

Elezen- The most overlooked and unloved of all the races IMO. They look stunning and the fact that there are so few of them makes me like them even more. (Absolutely yes)

Au Ra- Briefly tried male Au Ra a while back, and found that they were way too intense in their emotes and animations for me. Females are an absolute no, have to agree with those saying they look too much like waifus. (No)

Viera- I don't play female characters, so for now it's a no. However, once the males come out, I am strongly considering switching to one. We'll have to see. (For now, no. In Endwalker maybe.)

Hrothgar- Nothing against them really, just not for me. (No)

Midlanders: Boring and average. I tend to like my characters to a bit more fanciful. (No)

Highlanders: More interesting than midlanders, but the lack of eyebrows turns me off. The males also have weird faces. (Maybe)

Elezen: My favourite race. I love them a lot but their strange proportions get to me sometimes. I hold out hope that they may do something about it at some point. (Yes)

Au Ra: I like the males but their running animations are annoying. Don't like the females at all, too small and thin. They look like they could be done in by a strong breeze. I wish they were more like the concept art. (Yes males, No females)

Miqo'te: I do actually like the Miqo'te, they have the best emotes. But everyone and their mum plays one so I tend to gravitate away. Also too many waifus/husbandos (Maybe)

Roes/Hrothgar: I hate their freakishly large hands and orcish proportions. Hrothgar are mildly better but not by much. Female Roes aren't bad though, big girls are pretty rare in most games (Female Roe Maybe, males No) (Hrothgar No)

Viera: I love the Viera a lot, but the hairstyle issue keeps me away. Hopefully it gets better in Endwalker. (Yes)

Lalafell: Cute but not for me. Their weird gingerbread man bodies are just too much. (No)

Elezen: Love them, can't make one I'm happy with

Lalafell: Love them, love that they're in the game, can't play them.

Miqo'te: love them, one of my top 3 or 4 MMO races of all time, I have several alts for them, all cat girls

Roe: Love them, love that they're in the game, can't play them.

Au Ra: Love them, they're amazing, my other alt is a f!au'ra, they have the best angry animation in the game

Viera: My main. Third or fourth favorite MMO race of all time

Hrothgar: Love them, can't really play them

Hyur: This one was a midlander, then a highlander, and then finally a bunbun. would play either version again.
