World PVP dont make much sense in XIV, since harassment is taken so serious by the ToS, why would they implement a system where the focus is literally harass other players while they do dailies and MSQ? I mean i've never seen someone engage in combat in Open World PVP on WoW at least where the chances for both sides winning were even. its aways a gank where you have 100% chance of winning or not engaging at all. Its basically bullying someone clearly weaker than you.

I am against the misuse of development time to implement something which the game was never coded for and would benefit a very small part of the community. had open world pvp been included from the start, I would have little cause to comment. period.

My Time at Portia will only really benefit crafters. What about players who don't craft, like me? Female hrothgar probably won't be that popular, yet those are going to be added. Mahjong was already brought up. There's plenty of content in this game that's been added/will be added that only a certain niche will enjoy. It's almost like saying we shouldn't get high tier PvE either, because only a small subset of players actually does it in comparison to the rest of the game - actually I've seen those arguments, come to think of it.
As for being "not coded for", one could probably say that about half the content we have/get in the first place. Even something like Hyur stubble.

Tbf the game was never coded for flying in ARR zones and they made it work. They’ve shown time and time again that they’re able to pull things out of a hat if enough players want it. As far as open world pvp goes? It could be a possibility. I don’t see it in the near future but perhaps at a later date yes i think it’s quite possible. Kind of strange to see people so negative about this over and over reiterating the same points. Things like Mahjong aren’t played by many, JP audience may favor it but compared to the EU and NA servers who barely take interest in it, it seems like a very niche implementation. Yet they still did it. It’s just that a lot of the arguments i see in here are the same kind that i saw when people argued against male viera being implemented or a darker themed job being implemented yet we’re getting both in 6.0...
How developers spent their time, is none of your buisness, unless of course, there is a certain piece of infomation you wish to admit here?
If you sign up for a PvP Server of a MMORPG that has PK always active, you better prepare for the worst. As it has been stated before, it is fun to bully the weak, especially if they dont learn from their mistake and keep repeating the same mistake over and over.Griefing definition: Griefing is the act of chronically causing consternation to other members of an online community, or more specifically, intentionally disrupting the immersion of another player in their gameplay.
How is ganking someone so much that they end up quitting the game, which is what you prefer doing with your "perfect ganks", something other than griefing? And how is allowing such type of gameplay in any way beneficial for a game? A minority would get to create "bitter rivalies and stedfast alliances" at the expense of countless people who would have their gameplay ruined because of open-world PvP. And obviously, if you make open-world PvP not mandatory and on different servers those servers would be completely deserted. Because nobody signs up to get ganked.
Usually, a MMORPG that has this kind of thing going on offers both a PvE as well as a PvP server, a PvE Server doesnt becessarily mean that youre cut off from all PvP related content, but instead, it just wont gave the PK feature always active. And turning said mode off in such a Server, makes you completely immune to any griefing unless you hit them back.
