SE doesn't really even have time to monitor Feast so adding another mode that would produce player reports 24/7 wouldn't help. We should rather focus on the existing modes and overall improvement of PvP instead :P

I'd welcome flagged pvp. I don't believe it would "improve the game immensely" but it could make things more fun. Also, a while back, I read some crap about how the WoL can't go around "killing" people? If people who think like that took a small step back, maybe the WoL isn't killing people so much as simply "defeating" them. So yes, devs could replace the term "kill" with "defeat." And if you had to be super technical, they could even set the threshold at 1-10hp for victory conditions.
Anywho, I feel like they could start out small by simply allowing players to, at the very least, duel each other outside the cities without having to teleport to a specific place to do it. You know, change the scenery of your fight and add a bit of flair to it.
Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.

I really liked open world PvP in WoW, ages ago (but disliked L2 a lot). It was nice because of the war between Alliance and Horde. Also, you could choose with PvE and PvP servers. Nowadays, PvP servers TAG has gone, and you need to activate Warmode.
But I'm pretty sure that open world PvP won't fit FF14. So no.
Instead of open world PvP, FF14 Devs should add a big battleground like Alterac Valley (WoW BG).
The way how Jobs in PvP are currently designed, renders duelling a complete waste of time, unless both combatants are both dps AND both either melee or ranged. Any other combination makes a duel either completely onesided or a endless fight where the only option to end the fight, is to surrender.
What makes things alot worse, is that almost all abilities in any Job are just PvE skills in nature. There are hardly any debuffs, crowd control effects, placeable hazards or gimmicks avaiable, hell, we don't even have a proper Meta working.
And don't even get me started with the cesspool that is feast. The only people who genuinely enjoy it are the ones occupying the ranking ladder since ancient times trough elo boosting/elimination of rivals with the help of alt characters.

Sry but this dosnt make any sense in this game, even WoW players only activate it for the xp and reward buff and dont fight each other most of the time. So if you feel the urge to gank and annoy somebody go and play one of the hundrets surivial or other games which activily support this kind of behaviour.

Kinda bold to suggest it considering how much needs to be done for the PvP in this game.
If I learned anything from games like Dark Souls, is that there are many people who would not stand to have random players suddenly come at you.
I would not mind but the balance of this PvP and all would make me want to outright avoid an open world.
Lore wise is nothing important, part of the game even mocks and judges players/companies that fight each other as a form of sport and there are many nuances that do not get explained much or talked.
But for a shorter answer: No, they have enough stuff to worry on the plate.
XIV does not have the proper framework or server to client response times to implement a true and interactive open world PvP or even PvP in general.
Interactive PvP should require realtime, if not as close as possible to realtime, in server response. This is why FPS and WoW PvP works.
XIV's infamously janky server mechanics (built in lag) makes for a craptastic PvP scene.
Another thing to consider is the "balance" of our classes as they exist in PvE do not translate well to PvP.
PvP mostly relies on unbalance. Our classes are so beautifully balanced that it destroys PvP's needs of having good unbalance and class specific skills rather than role specific skills.

hard pass on open world pvp.
zero interest in that, and would begrudge any development time it takes away from anything else.
This is not a game with a huge pvp focus, and I doubt I am alone in prefering that.
you cannot take a non-pvp focused game and impose an overarching open world pvp system that would work or make anyone happy.
In a game such as WoW where open world PvP was designed to be part of the game, it's soooo popular that even on PvP servers almost no one does it.
And those that do overwhelmingly use it to gank and troll people.
So it's not just a no to adding it to 14, it's an "Aw HELL no!"
