Controller randomly disconnects and reconnects while gaming

So out of nowhere I believe after patch 5.5 or it could've been earlier than that my ps4 controller and other controllers I've used on PC my controller would randomly disconnect and reconnect specifically, what would happen is sometimes my character would get locked in moving one direction for a couple of seconds then I would be able to gain control again and then sometimes I wouldn't be able to execute an action or do anything at all and because of that sometimes it would get me killed or almost make me mess up a mechanic. This had never happened before since I started playing back in heavensward and it to have been sometime during shadowbringers around patch 5.5 because that's when I started noticing that this was happening. At first I thought it night have been my controller or possibly the cable but it wasn't the case because I 've tried multiple cables and controllers and the same issue persisted and ONLY in ff14 no other game on PC that I own had that issue so please can anyone help or maybe even hopefully can square enix help because I absolutlly love this game and I wouldn't want to stop playing this game over something so silly. Sorry if this was the wrong thread to post this in I am not used this forum posting stuff

Hi! I don't know if this is still an issue for you, but it had been for me for many months now. I found through a lot of searching that this happens when the device manager refreshes continuously due to a certain program. Seems like for some people it was the Microsoft Device Association Root Enumerator under Software Devices but this didn't solve my issue. Mine only stopped when I uninstalled the anti virus program AVG. I guess it was constantly making my device manager refresh and when that happened my controller would become unresponsive for a few seconds. Very obnoxious and caused me more than one death.

Anyway, I hope this helps. If you've already solved this issue, maybe it'll help someone else because I was becoming very frustrated with this issue. Sad that I had to uninstall my anti virus, but so much happier that my controller works properly lol.
