1-Job only; Taboo or optional?

Can you still get by with just main-ing one job throughout the game without much repercussions? I am aware it limits versatility to switch on & off.

I feel the pressure somehow the “neccesity” to level multiple jobs but for me its far too much, especially how far I’ve grinded with gear wise & to redo the whole thing is mind boggling.

Anyone body else relates similarly?

there's no necessity to level multiple jobs if you're absolutely happy with the one you have.

Unlike WoW for example, the good part about XIV's job design being so static, is that it makes easier to balance, so the performance disparity between the "best" and the "worst" is minimal, and perhaps would only matter for groups attempting Ultimate fights.
