    If they were to "fix it" they would need to have something ready by 6.1 but I don't think anything will happen. It's been over 3 years and the only thing worthwhile DRK has ever received is TBN.

    An issue we've seen for at least 2 xpacs is that some classes receive a whole lot of care while others are completely neglected. I feel classes like DRK and MCH are very phoned in.

    Paladin - New combo finishers.

    Warrior - Gets requested QoL.

    Gunbreaker - New combo from cartridge.

    The above - All get healing attached to multiple skills in their kits.

    Living Dead needs no explanation, especially after other tank invulns were buffed. Blood Weapon is very difficult to get 5gcds, and is almost unusable in AoE due to Unleash+Stalwart being spells.

    Oblation - Intervention. Heart of Corundum. Nascent Flash.

    Abyssal Drain - Still heals the least, again other tanks were buffed, while DRK was ignored.

    Shadowbringer - We have 3 separate parts of our kit that don't interact, and this continues that trend. Also, this adds more double weaves to an already dense burst window.

    Darkside - Remove.

    Living Shadow - Just a DoT.

    Why would anybody play DRK? Reaper does the aesthetic better, and in every regard any other tank is objectively stronger.

    Also, the leveling process. Dark Mind still exists, and TBN is still level 70.

    TBN at 70 is good. Its an excellent capstone for the end of the job story being a shield made out of love and one of the best mitigation tools in the game.

    Said amazing mitigation does not excuse the rest of the kit being so disjointed, lackluster and missing out on everything the other tanks get and the destruction of dark as a job in favour of a marauder clone.

    I've been having a hard time deciding which job came off worse, sch, whm or drk. All 3 got shafted hard.

    I would like to share and suggest to players in other countries, so I will write it in this thread as well.
    I just translated what I wrote in JP, so I'm sorry if it doesn't get through.


    After seeing the media tour, I have some concerns and requests.


    ・ Blood Delirium
    I would like you to change this skill.
    This skill has been established as a warrior mechanic, and dark knights want to enjoy their own playing experience.


    ・ Unmend
    Rather than adding traits to a skill that you don't have the chance to use in a single battle, I would like you to add traits to another skill.


    ・ Living shadow
    Due to synergies and gimmicks, there will be a loss due to not being able to fit all, so change to a specification that can damage all at once according to the remaining seconds, or reduce the number of attacks and separate that amount I would like you to sort it out.


    ・ Shadow Bringer
    I can understand the advantage of charge action that Mr. Yoshida mentioned, but basically it is used according to synergies and the operability is deteriorated due to the increase in the number of abilities.
    Therefore, I would like you to change this skill to a skill with an attack power of 1200 and a recast of 120 seconds.
    Also, since it is a skill that you can learn at level 90, I think it would be good if it was very damaging and comfortable and sharp.
    Since the living shadow of the dark knight is DoT, the attack is not fun as a whole and there is no sharpness, so please change it including that.


    I know it's a difficult time just before the release, but please consider it.

    At this point, I've already given up. We've complained and voiced our woes time and time again but they don't listen.

    Yoshida straight up lied to our faces like it was the most natural thing to do.

    I'm done with trying to get the Dev's to listen and give them feedback. As Yoshida already shown, they only listen to what they want to hear or read. So if they don't give a flying fuck, then they can go fuck themselves.

    I'm still in awe of how Lame level 82 Oblation and level 84 Enhanced Unmend is, like I've known real people who spent an hour in the restroom hiding from work come up with better shit than this.

    Really incredible, it's like whoever did the Dark Knight Endwalker changes went the extra mile/kilometer/yalm to make this the Lamest Possible Unrewarding Uninspiring Job Experience to Level 90.

    Suggestions that won't alter too much of the class mechanics:

    Level 82 Integrate Oblation's 10% damage reduction into The Blackest Night when bubble pops or expires 5 Seconds Reduced Damage Taken Effect, Hell, make it 15% or have a small Heal over Time whatever, will save on a Skill and Keybind too.

    The 10-15% Reduced Damage Taken will only have a total of 20 seconds uptime per 60 seconds because The Blackest Night can only be used 4 Times Per Minute due to 15 Second CD. If The Dark Knight takes enough damage to pop that TBN shield long before TBN's 7 second duration, it's a pretty damn good sign the player is going to need to hit some other mitigation cooldown soon anyway. Ease of Use, Quality of Life Improvement and Improved short cooldown tank mitigation in line with PLD/GNB/WAR upgrades.

    Level 84: Living Shadow acquires Trait Move Your Ass and immediately Moves his or her ass to the enemies and starts fighting instead of posing and catwalking wasting time. This will at least be better than Enhanced Unmend LMAO

    Level 86 and 88: The same increases potency of Melee & Living Shadow attacks with some Messages from SE "We're Sorry, Hope this Makes Up In Some Way"

    Level 90: Shadowbringer replaces Bloodweapon, 2 Charges of Shadowbringer 60 second Cooldown OGCD Line AOE or AOE attack. Each use restores 25-50 Blood/1500-3000 Mana, Usable while under Darkside or Mana < 3000 (low mana situation). Kit Interaction in Meaningful Way, Part of Rotation in Meaningful Way, DONE.

    Level 90: Living Shadow II, Your Living Shadow Now uses Shadowbringer instead of Flood of Shadow while still remembering to immediately Move His/Her Ass in a fight instead of posing and doing everything obnoxiously slow.

    Could even Make Living Shadow II also trigger a decent Heal Over Time Regen that lasts 24 second duration on Dark Knight so it's not just a glorified DOT skill that is useless when Boss takes a break and players have to disengage, or Mobs die early. Yeah, now it's a DOT and a HOT on a 2 minute timer. If that's too much, could even make it a 12 second Regen or a 20 second reduced damage taken buff, there's plenty of ways to make it more than just a glorified DOT.

    DRK need a change of course, the job it's a disappoinment not only for those who loved the older versions but for those who expected the job evolved with new mechanics increasing the cohesion of the kit on the current Desing, something that SE has totally failed to deliver. DRK in EW will have the next issues:

    - Darkside it's a useless mechanic, 100% brainless uptime, no management, nothing whatsoever making his gauge remain useless.
    - underwhelming gameplay pace, DRK will still based on having a huge burst and doing absolutely nothing around 45s aggravated by Delirium being squeezed in such burst window, DRK will spend around 75% of the time using soul eater combo and a occasional Bloodspiller only.
    - dismissed Delirium feedback, the skill that was the engine of the WAR rip-off complains still remain as a poor inner release cheap copy, Bloodspiller spam is still awful.
    - DRK being WAR rip-off is getting enchanced, WAR will get more APM and combined that DRK have no new mechanics the similitude between both jobs pace it's going to be almost the same with the difference that WAR have an actual cohesive gameplay.
    - Blood weapon still have the same problems as SHB, hard to fit 5 skills under his duration and aoe spells due not being affected by skill speed will never hit 5 uses under his duration.
    - living dead not having a kit to support his downsides, the jobs needs at least half of the WAR self healing capabilitys to make at least the skill being viable and not be a healer resources black hole withouth changing it.
    - underwhelming living shadow and his gauge representation totally useless.
    - plunge trait it's basically a joke and a waste of a leveling skill spot for the job expansion.
    - underwhelming shadowbringer addition adding nothing but a generic oGCD that doesn't contribute on making DRK more unique.
    - awful leveling experience with some necessary skills learned to late.
    - Dark mind being a niche skill, mostly useless in most situations.

    Some would disagree but I firmly believe that DRK need a rework, several skills need to be repurpose and his actual "mechanics" reconsidered since right now almost all of them could be removed and wouldn't change at all how the job works.

    It just feels weird at one point.

    Whenever people speak about the gameplay issues of Dark Knight it's like people pretend to not understand sometimes, whenever it's devs or players.

    "I think that the class is lacking in class identity"
    "Not at all the class is viable!"
    "What? no i meant that the gameplay was clunky"
    "Of course not, the animation is really good looking!"
    "Wait what?...nevermind, what i mean to say is that the class has no real synergy compared to before, the skills feels like someone took what was left at the bottom of the barrel even if they didn't fit together at all and painted them in purple, black and red and called it a day."
    "I see now....You want to do more damage! You just want your class to be better than the others!"
    "I give up..."
    "Which means there is no problem with this class!"

    To summarize: potency, animation, and viability is good, just give us some class identity.
    The goal is not to go back to heavensward or stormblood, just saying that even with their defaults, at least those class builds had some coherence and class identity.

    Yoshi P in one of his interviews even said that the team has heard no real concerns about blood weapon or living dead from the community.

    That interview alone should tell you that our 6+ years of complaining about LD and 4+ years about blood weapon are literally falling on deaf ears.

    I only hope that the feedback that the people who participated in the media tour gets heard as I know several content creators who went voiced their concerns on blood weapon and Living dead along with self healing.
