Otherwise, yes DarkSide could be so much. If it being a timer that gets drained is too awkward, make it a normal gauge to fill, with some abilities using it that are so good you absolutely don't want to overcap through abuse of Edge/Flood.
Again, Blackest Night using Darkside insteand of straight MP would make sense.

The question is does abyssal drain mp restoration work like the heal? If so that is instant full mp on certain dungeon pulls. But overall its a L.

No blood weapon change
No living dead change
No dark mind change
No TBN change
No Oblation change
No enhanced unmend change. Trait doesnt work on all targets (Reduces recast time of Plunge by 5 seconds when executing Unmend on most targets.)
No Stalwart soul change

I will still main it in EW for the story, but for raid and content afterwards looks like PLD or GNB for me.

It is very frustrating from a player perspective to have concerns dismissed just because DRK is the most played tank job so it must be fine.

No blackblood is about not capping the ressource. The pb with darkside is that without even watching it you can keep it running. If it was seperated of edge/flood of shadow and more like ninja's fuuton buff or reaper's debuff it would be better already.

Well, that effectively seals my decision. I’ll complete Endwalker, and my journey as a Dark Knight, at the conclusion of story. After that, I am abandoning Drk as my Main and switching over to Reaper. Until they fix the problems with Dark Knight, I will not be utilizing the job.

Just when I thought that was it for Dark Knight, lo and behold SquareEnix DRK Devs surprise me again.

I thought Enhanced Unmend + Plunge and Salted Earth-TWO Meme was bad enough but then I saw Carve & Split sharing a CD timer with Abyssal Drain, something Nobody asked for. Like Nobody, N O B O D Y.

I admit, I really didn't see that one coming- it's like a freight train suddenly appearing on the interstate highway during a traffic jam and plowing through 100 cars when the nearest train tracks are 20 miles away. It's neat that we get a mana restore effect on Abyssal Drain now but now it shares CD timer on Carve & Split? WTF? Carve & Split doesn't even restore HP like Abyssal Drain, not even the same type of skill... SquareEnix is taking the piss out of the players.

The Dark Knight Devs deserve a Special F U Award in Recognition of their horrible contribution. They can share the podium with Scholar Devs too, maybe those 2 can bunk up together in same room with 1 bug ridden stained bed.
