Thoughts on players badly using housing

I want to know what are your thoughts on how do you feel about players that don't use their house properly.

Recently i was talking to a friend about how some people despite having a house don't use it at all. Me and he give up on having our own house since we have an fc house already and we spent most of our time in there, and since we do that buying a house would be only to show other people we own a house.
Since different from other games where your house is a instance and owning one does not affect other players, in ffxiv having a house is taking the spot from someone that can use it for a purpose. when we looked at our ward we noticed that many people didn't use their house at all, but, they came to it once a month to probably reset the timer and not lose it.
and while some people like that exists, a lot of people are looking for a house to have a place to their fc or a place to build their RP restaurants, i feel like this is wrong and have to be looked out
but what do you think about it?

Well I have a fairly good example I think. I bought a house for my FC when they added new plots last year. I got a neighbor that bought a house across from mine, but they never did anything with it. The yard and the inside remained barren.
Kinda makes me feel bad for the people who missed out. The house clearly was just purchased for the sake of it.

The ward my personal med house is in is pretty decent, usually some people hanging out and everyone has some nice yards.
Then there's the Large in the area. This Large house is owned by what appears to be a two person FC. The yard is completely barren except for an aetheryte and like a chocobo stall that never has a chocobo in it. I was curious to see who owns it and looked up the FC and the members on the Lodestone.... The leader is a level 50 BLM with nothing else touched and the other member has done barely anything as well. One of them comes and keeps the house from being demolished, but like.... I feel like it's a complete waste. I don't even want it that bad myself, just like give it to an fc or player that would use it or something.

I am still questioning the OP's view of what bad use is. I just took a jog around their ward and there are a lot of homes decorated inside and out. Not going to jump to conclusions on their view but I feel like I know what their view of bad use is..but they are claiming many dont use them.

not using the property at all or not having a social/personal use.
i don't think you need to be at your plot 24/7, but different from other games you are ''taking the spot from someone'' that can use that plot for something. you can see sometimes plots that people didn't put anything on it, and sometimes you get inside it and you can only see a bell and nothing more, i know some people take their time to make their home, but i already saw on my previous ward a house that in months didn't get any furniture at all.
and theres people looking for houses to live, bring friends up, make a rp place.

Is this a troll post? Players that purchase a house may use it for whatever they wish, personal or FC. It is not up to others to decide how the game is played.

Yeah the house is yours and you can do wharever you want with it, but in a game where you have a limited number of houses we should complain whem people don't use their at all.
go buy yourself a apartment, if you don't put anything in at all you aren't taking that spot from someone, but in houses? yes you are taking a space that could be used by a player or FC.
or you think that: '' oh you want a house to hang out with friends, make a comfy place to stay sometimes, a FC or a roleplaying place? too bad i own it and even though i don't use it i need to have so i can say i own one and you don't "

Thank you for stating your view the way your post is worded just made it sound like a different view.

I strongly dislike seeing houses without even any gardens, or any decoration, but it's still their house.

Functionally, there's no difference between somebody constantly using their house and somebody that only prevents auto-demo. It's the same house being taken off the market.

Blame the system, not the players.

edit - That said, in most cases, these aren't "players", the plot owner is selling empty FCs with a plot.

And I don't see any practical solution that hasn't already been suggested like making housing instanced.
