controller become unresponsive

I play on PC, but use an Xbox controller. Recently, my controller will just stop responding to my inputs and do nothing for sort periods of time. after 5-10 seconds it will correct itself , but normally by then the damage is already done. I've tested out other games to see if i had something wrong on my end, be it my PC or my controller. and the thing works just fine. Is something wrong on Final Fantasy's end?

Does this issue occur if a different controller is used? Additionally, does updating the drivers or recalibrating the controller help?
