Aren't we still getting the Rising event this year alongside Moonfire? For a moment there you scared me because i thought perhaps they canceled it this year. xD
Journey to all fish: 1383/1729 (348 remaining) [79%]

How long do I get to hold onto my sprout icon? Just started this last weekend on the Malboro server and it's been fun thus far!

From Wiki:
The "New Adventurer" status is applied to all players who have less than 168 hours of play time and have not completed the quest A Requiem for Heroes, unless they have toggled this status off by using the command /nastatus.

You'll keep it until you get to Shadowbringers. The quest mentioned in the quoted wiki information above is the final quest of Stormblood's post-credits phase.

And then they will get to endgame, and proceed to afk in Limsa after realizing the game is filled with catch up mechanics, invalidating the previous content. Just like WoW.
I personally welcome these changes. Haven't been particularly social myself, but I get to play with some of them and they're very nice people, so far.
Then you have the more jaded players that have been playing the game for some time. I honestly prefer playing with a sprout over someone with a Mentor crown that has to have everything go their own way. In any case, there's all kinds of people and the growth of players in a community is essential for any game I'd say.
I've played since around ShB launch. I like all the sprouts, and don't mind the lowbie dungeons from leveling roulette (apart from Toto-Rak). I try to be helpful and explain unusual mechanics (first boss in Qarn, for example).
Looking back, I wish I hadn't rushed to 80. I got to max-level content without ever having seen a lot of boss mechanics that absolutely wrecked me in level 80 content. You can catch-up on item levels and gear, but there is no catch-up mechanic for knowing the game.

Personally I find Copperbell Mines to be the worst one.I've played since around ShB launch. I like all the sprouts, and don't mind the lowbie dungeons from leveling roulette (apart from Toto-Rak). I try to be helpful and explain unusual mechanics (first boss in Qarn, for example).

Toto-rak is longer, but has more going for it. Copperbell has 2 very very, VERY tedious boss fights you can't do at any kind of different pace no matter who's in your party.
