    blu at lvl 80

Something I'd like to see when blu can be lvl 80 is we could have passive ability that would active based on what spell combos we have equipped.

An example could be something like:
equip Transfusion + Chelonian Gate would give you more Vit

This would give a lot of the spells we find useless a use to equip them. This system was in ff11 and I think it'd be a good integration into ff14.

FFXI went one step further with special effects like dual wielding, I'm sure you meant that too but I thought it would sell the system more than mentioning VIT . It was a fun part of FFXI, also worth mentioning abilities themselves had stats sometimes- not just combining stuff.

I would love to see them inspired with like Diablo 3 legendary horadric cube storage system as well (maybe you can slot one affix regardless if you equipped the right spells). Some thoughts with Witcher 3 mutagens + ability like affix system.

Opportunity to want to collect everything as well. There could be some game changing affix (in the sense it restructure what you originally approached a kit). More than just + basic stat, maybe certain ice and fire spells allow you to slot black mage like light mechanics (that umbral stuff).

I agree, I was just showing one thing. The possibilities are oh most limitless if we had this system.

Definitely could do a lot of cool things with it! It would be nice to also perhaps see it be used as a way to add value to the relatively valueless skills out there, maybe they come with stats or you can use them to produce special affix, then you might get other quests / challenges like achieving X in the circus gets you a slot which you can hold an affix you unlocked without having to actually equip those abilities (which means you'd be using the abilities you are equipping to make other affix as well).

Normally such ideas would start to spiral into something hard to balance, but potentially very fun (akin to thinking of Diablo 3 at the best of times), a big problem if blue mage was a normal job.. but.. it's not... so I don't really see the problem lol.

Just more things to do and goof off with blue mage

I’d love to see some sort of synergy system as well, but I could see it all getting theorycrafted into uselessness the instant a bis is located.

Luckily, or unluckily depending on your perspective. . . Lol, blue isn't main content and isn't or at least sincerely shouldn't be carefully designed around a sense of balance that requires respecting bis (balance only, and ever only, imo, in so much to ensure it is fun, and for no other reason).

Bis then for this situation is like.. if you really wanted it, really bad lol, else whatever, it's for side / old content anyways. More important if it generated a number of interesting (and particularly fun) ways to engage the job.

I would just like Aetherial Mimicry to cycle through its three settings rather than having to go look for people. It's fine if you're in a busy city or the Gold Saucer or something, but if you're out in the world and decide you want to go play with a FATE, it's mildly inconvenient.

The thing is, we learnt it from a group of mob that tethers us to 'mimic'. It would be weird to turn the spell into a cycle button. If any adjustment at all, I wish we can use this spell on enemy targets as well, not just other players.

We also learn magic spells from robots and aliens (and an alien robot). We conjure fish just to spit them at enemies. We pull swords, wings, ice bows, and all kinds of other things out of nowhere and then put them away into nowhere. We have three different ways to kill ourselves. Frankly, a cycling buff is the least impractical trick BLU pulls.

Maybe using on yourself to get DPS mimicry at least.
Using it on enemies could be tricky too, and you won't be able to rely on the enemy you're facing being the role you need, so you'll still need to find someone else. So while it could be a handy option, it wouldn't eliminate the need for finding another player.

Frankly, it's not difficult to find someone else. Just TP to Limsa.
