Try navigating to Documents\My Games\Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Reborn, back up your FFXIV_CHR folder by moving it to another location such as the Desktop, then login again. This will reset all of your hotbars, macros and HUD Layout to the defaults, but because you have a backup you can restore it by dragging the folder from the desktop back to where it was and overwriting. If it stops the crash from happening though, you know that one of those files is corrupt and causing problems.

Thanks for the input; sadly, that did not resolve the issue. If you have any other ideas, please suggest them.

That makes it unlikely to be corrupt local settings. I can see your laptop is just using onboard intel graphics - while this worked for me personally in the past for many years, it's sometimes the cause of crashes in games because of it not supporting functions that graphics cards do.

Hmm, that is a possibility, but with this being the only cutscene I have found to act like this, that seems odd to me; I also don't really know how to replace a graphics card or, frankly the money to buy a new one. So, I hope that the cause is something I have more control over.

It seems this was moved to Technical Support, so I will say that the issue continues to remain unresolved and is still the only cutscene that acts in this manner.

Good morning and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Have any changes happened to the device before the issue began? We would also like to recommend several other troubleshooting steps:

    1) Make sure that your hardware is not overheating and remove any overclocks you may have on your graphics card or processor. Please check that any fans or vents are clear of blocks.
    2) Disable any additional programs that could cause interference with the game itself including chat programs. Also, remove any custom configurations made using graphics driver-level programs
    3) Remove any mods or injectors from the game or system
    4) Turn off Fullscreen Optimizations. Find the executable file for the game (normally found in the install folder), right-click it and select 'Properties'. Under the 'Compatibility' tab, check the box labeled 'Disable Fullscreen Optimizations', then click 'Apply'.
    5) Remove any unnecessary USB or audio devices (controllers, headphones, flash drives etc.)
    6) Update and reinstall the drivers for your graphics card
    7) Perform a clean boot by opening the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything
    8) Delete the locally-saved data folder (My Documents > My Games > Final Fantasy XIV). Make sure to create a backup of this so you can replace it if it doesn't solve the issue.

Thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.
