How were streamers determined for the Twitch Chocobo campaign?

Realistically what's going to happen is that people will drop 4 subs to who ever is currently streaming and never watch them again. FFXIV streams are just zzz compared to real games like WoW

To be honest, I think this is the dumbest thing they could've done in regards to campaigns. Reaching out to Twitch? Sure. But to be fair I would've rather we had XIV do something like I don't know, a repeat of the XV event?

They've already scheduled the FFXIVxFFXV event to be held again in September. You can find their official timeline til Endwalker Early Access and Release... somewhere.

I think it’s moreso that WoW content is more able and entertaining to be streamed than 14 is. Their content creators also seem to be much more engaging personalities than 14’s. That isn’t really a negative thing tbh it’s just a different way of things. Their raids are far more engaging and elaborate than ours are, so it’s a better demographic for mmo fans than say, a savage raid stream would be. No need to bash on wow tbh. Lot of things that could be said about 14 as well. Both games have their caveats. MPK isn’t totally wrong about the subs thing anyway. People in the other thread have literally said they just picked someone at random and it’s pretty prevelant when you see how much money the top list streamers like zepla and spofie have made.

WoW is still a game but only in the loosest of terms. It's more of a job or 2nd job for most players now, but still technically a game. lol The devs, or even the company as a whole, don't really care about fun anymore. Well, not the type of fun which made them successful to begin with anyway. This is only their...what, third attempt to make the game strictly "raid or die"? Part of me has to wonder if they are actively trying to kill the game slowly. It never ends well, and most companies would have fired those responsible after even the first screw up, but not Blizzard.

To be honest, I'm not a fan of this campaign for a few reasons--

For starters, Twitch has increasingly become a skewed popularity contest-- in addition, some of those streamers listed are downright egoistical and at times, even insult their viewers. A few others just have no real inclination to deliver high energy streams that fully explore the nuances of FFXIV content. As a legacy player, I'm also sometimes appalled at how some streamers interpret the lore intent of the game.

Lastly, while we all appreciate the Dev Team's marketing reasoning for this event-- especially since it ends right around the anniversary period in August-- I absolutely agree with a couple posts above. This campaign should have focused much more on community-oriented players who have continuously delivered wonderful blogs, informative websites, artwork, and articulate forum posts.

The person who agreed to a collaboration like this should get scolded.

What is gonna happen, people will drop subs within the first 1-3 days and then never watch a stream again.
In these days ffxiv will be higher on the twitch list, but after that it will drop on the same position as before.

How could they have made it better?
Simply use twitch drops.
You have to be subscribed to the channel and need to watch it. With this you will get more and more viewers and some of them might stay, plus the random viewers who were curious of why the game has so many viewers.
Non twitch user will also think twice who they want to watch for a month to get that mount.
For all unlucky viewers they could in the last week make to option to be subscribed + gifting 3 subs for the 100% chance to the mount

Oh I get your points. It's known XIV isn't known for it's streaming honestly. I was just poking holes at MPK as she's throwing around that XIV isn't a -REAL- game. Cause ye----ah that's a stupid take. Now if she said something like " WoW has content that does better on streams I wouldn't have batted and eye.. but she said what she said and she KNOWS what she did. A -real- game. I need icecream.
