Mpk is definitely stirring the pot, but that keeps things from getting stagnant. I especially like some of his moonlogic leaps — no, I like the responses to his moonlogic more than anything else.Shockingly, there are more FFXIV players than WoW players on the FFXIV official forums.
I'm just wondering how many more threads MPK can get out of this before people stop taking the bait. It's kinda funny, in a bile fascination way, but it's gonna get old eventually.

People have nothing better to do then to argue about nothing. And when they have nothing to argue about, they create something new to bicker and complain about.
A problem gets solved with a solution, world peace could be achieved...and somebody will still artificially find a way to create a new topic to fight over, and people, ALWAYS-TAKE-THE-BAIT
I don't have an opinion on this but I wanted to clear up something for those that aren't aware, because it often sounds like people are implying that the WoW and WoW Classic stats can be combined into a larger total. They shouldn't be; that would be double-dipping into the same population. To play on the WoW Classic servers you have to have a retail subscription to World of Warcraft. So, in the example above, those "2.4" million on WoW Classic are already included in the "2.7" million figure for WoW retail, as all of those WoW Classic players have a WoW retail sub.I'd guess that FFXIV has more daily players than WoW currently - though not more active accounts overall. Given the Classic/Retail split WoW still holds more players in total but the content drought and the obvious shift to FFXIV content has successfully chipped away at those numbers.

The only thing I know about him is that every other word is an f-bomb and he comes across as extremely unlikeable. I have seen only the smallest sample of when he has been talking about FFXIV, saw him linked with Zepla. I don’t care if the dude plays this game or not, that is his own choice and prerogative. I hope he keeps it to himself. I do not want him representing this game in any way.

Personally, frequent f bombs aren't an issue for me. But I understand how it could be off putting. There is also a time and place for this. And yeah, I don't think he's the most likeable guy either. Never really has been. Even so, he has matured a lot since his earlier days. Sadly, his following has not caught up with the times. They are a bigger issue than the man himself. The only thing I know about him is that every other word is an f-bomb and he comes across as extremely unlikeable. Depends a little on how they're counted. It could be that some players only get put on one of the pools so some combining could probably be done, but definitely not just simply slapping them together. It's a 3rd party site doing some arcane magic and pulling numbers out of that after all:I don't have an opinion on this but I wanted to clear up something for those that aren't aware, because it often sounds like people are implying that the WoW and WoW Classic stats can be combined into a larger total. It could count people just posting about the game as players for all we know.Originally Posted by MMO Populations

yeah about that...we got a taste of what i'll be like when he plays it yesterday on rich's stream (who I didn't know about before) and it's basically going to be chaotic.

I feel kinda sorry for when this "Asmon" does stream ff14 as I can see it being difficult for him to do literally anything ingame due to a herd of players following him to the point where passby'ers will think it's a community event or something (which I admittedly did) and get swept up in. I mean if you saw this amount of people at one location wouldn't you think it's a event as well?
Personally I don't have much to any opinion on streamers since all I want to do is play the game but even I know that it's going to be hard for someone as popular as 'asmon' to play the game at all, especially after seeing the 'test' of what it'll be like with 'rich' that I kinda feel sorry for after witnessing it first hand on what it'll be like ingame.
either way, I think people should just start sending out the word to leave them alone like they did with Jesse Cox as it seemed to have toned down the issues I addressed here with them. then again though their communities are different so it might not work. that's enough outta me though, i'm going back to gaming
Yeah, I saw that stream and was shocked with the level of obnoxious stalking... they were even spaming spells around him. The thing that sucks is you can disable the effects, but you'll still hear the sounds. It must be awful to play the game like that. I think that more than anything this might be what makes Asmon dislike his time in FFXIV.

Now I can't get the image of MPK on a stepladder, stirring a giant pot out of my head.
