Then I decided that I feel like and believe that the best FFXIV Warrior would be the Warrior with both. Wrath and Abandon, and Beast Gauge. When I sat down and read about, did hours of research, and took the time to learn about the old Defiance Tank stance, its Wrath resource, the old Deliverance DPS Tank stance, and its Abandon resource, this was my conclusion about them.

“the Warrior stands in defiance, and their wrath grows as they fight, while their defiance can rile up into deliverance, and the deliverance is their wrath erupting into a uncontrollable rampage, like losing control of the inner beast, or like.. to abandon reason and straight thinking, abandon these and succumb to the frenzy, but it can also go the other way; for the warrior could settle back down, the uncontrollable tamed and calmed down, abandon the frenzy back into just their wrath, as the uncontrollable frenzy of deliverance calms down into the more level-headed defiance.”

But then.. the dilemma, the contradiction.. one more thing to note, “what do you mean “like losing control of the inner beast”, and “abandon reason and straight thinking, to succumb to the frenzy?”” Well, this is a fair point... To any whom paid attention to the Warrior story, the WoL does not do that, seeing as the WoL trained and mastered the Inner Beast.
Alas... this is, in fact.. correct! This is where the “BackBone of the concept” part comes in, allow me the chance to explain.

The Wrath resource is the power of the Warrior, and the Inner Beast is where the power of the Warrior comes from, while the Beast Gauge is the power of the Inner Beast, that has been mastered; tamed and under control.

And this is why the Abandon resource is a “negative” resource, as the Abandon resource represents the threat that is “to succumb to the Inner Beast”, and the Inner Beast’s threat to become “uncontrollable”, while Deliverance also comes into play here, for Deliverance is the key to conversion of Abandon resource into Wrath resource and Beast gauge; or in more story-akin words, the deliverance of power, as Abandon and the Inner Beast can either be calmed down into Defiance and Wrath, or tamed into Beast Gauge.

Oh-kay, now that the introduction and ideology bones have been laid out, next is the actual muscles and tendons of this “Wrath and Abandon, and Beast Gauge - the union” concept.

Deliverance stance / still a stance like Defiance, a toggle ability that the Warrior turns on and it stays on, unless the Warrior “uses it” again, and turns it off. Defiance and Deliverance will stack, so the Warrior should have both of them turned on at the same time, and although you may turn off Defiance for tank-swaps, there is no reason to turn off Deliverance, this DPS stance should stay on and active at all times.

The effect of Deliverance: increases damage dealt by 5%, and allows the activation and use of either abilities that convert abandon resource into Wrath resource and Beast gauge, or actions that have a additional cost of a small amount of Abandon resource.
The conversion abilities of Deliverance: there are two conversion abilities. One is “Inner Calm”, and converts one solid Abandon resource into one solid Wrath resource, while the other is “Tame the Beast”, and converts Abandon resource points into Beast gauge units, 50 to 50 to be precise.

Beast Gauge / no serious changes, for the most part. Just a debate on the possible reduction of how much Beast Gauge units a WeaponSkill costs, since some new abilities and perhaps WeaponSkills would cost Beast Gauge units.

Wrath resource / think “Monk Chakra”, but ten instead of five, and the Warrior gains one every 100 Wrath resource points, as the points convert into solid resource all on their own, where a third of the Wrath resource points come from auto-attacks like Paladin(the same 5 every hit), a third from WeaponSkill combo bonuses(10 or 20 depending), and the last third from oCGDs actions, abilities and attacks, or GCD abilities.(any where from 10 to 50, depending).
Think of the Wrath resource as the Warrior becomes more angry and furious as they fight.

Abandon resource / similar to Wrath resource, in the sense of being like 10 “Monk Chakra”, and the Warrior gains one every 100 Abandon resource points, as the points convert into solid resource all on their own, but then we have how Abandon functions different from Wrath.
Where Wrath resource is only spent as solid resource, and points above or under a solid resource have no use, abandon is a solid resource - Gauge hybrid, as its solid resource can be converted into solid Wrath resource through “Inner Calm”, or 50 Abandon resource points can be converted into 5 units of the Beast Gauge, through “Tame the Beast”, with one Beast Gauge “unit” being 10 Beast Gauge points.
Additionally, Abandon resource points slowly build up all on their own, 1 point every auto-attack, 1 point every time a WeaponSkill is used, combo or not, 1 point every 5 seconds(think of it like a third every two Auto-attacks and every two WeaponSkills.), and either 5 or 10 points every time a oGCD and/or GCD ability is used, depending on the ability in question.

Spending resources / be it WeaponSkills or Abilities, GCD or oGCD, some have no cost, some cost just Wrath, some cost just Beast Gauge, a few cost both, some cost Wrath and a small amount of Abandon, some cost Beast Gauge and a small amount of Abandon, while Warrior’s most powerful actions cost both Wrath and Beast Gauge, as well as a small amount of Abandon.
To elaborate, Beast Gauge is still spent the same way, Wrath is only spent as its solid resource, gained every 100 Wrath resource points, where this 100-point solid resource is spent as “1 Wrath resource”; while as for Abandon resource, abandon resource is utilized as either its 100-point solid resource converted into Wrath resource’s 100-point solid resource, 50 abandon resource points converted into five 10-point units of Beast Gauge, or in the case of Warrior’s most powerful actions, the “small amount of Abandon” refers to Abandon resource points, any where from 10 to 50, depending on the action.

As a side note.. Abandon resource still builds up but can not be utilized, if Deliverance is not active, as the Deliverance stance needs to be active, to have access to the utilization of Abandon resource. Additionally, on the matter of actions that “cost” Abandon resource, these exceptions to the rule also require that Deliverance is active, and you can think of it as the Warrior allowing the Inner Beast to lash out.. only for a moment, to make the Inner Beast simmer back down a little.
side-note addition: I forgot to mention this in the initial post... Abandon resource degenerates outside of combat.
While not in combat, Abandon points are slowly lost and disappear, until Abandon points returns to 0.

About the Infuriated and Uncontrollable special statuses / Last, but aught except the least, if the reader has been paying all due attention, then whom will be left with a loose end. What about the old Infuriated and Uncontrollable statuses, that were mentioned at the start of this to also return?
I can explain them now, with the rest of this concept addressed.

We can all agree that to not spend resources and to just leave them to hit maximum, is a waste and a bad thing to do, especially in this case where Wrath and Abandon now hit maximum at 1000 points, instead of 5 units, but Infuriated and Uncontrollable were special statuses that only appear when Wrath or Abandon hits maximum...
For this remaster, I did decide on what to do with these two old effects, though.

Infuriated / Infuriated is still a positive buff, but also a trap that will trick Warriors into making it a loss instead of a gain, if the Warrior approaches it in the wrong way. Wrath will slow and steady reach maximum of its own volition, especially if the Warrior feeds a lot of Abandon into it, but a dumb Warrior that refuses to spend their Wrath resource, for the sake of reaching Infuriated faster, can and will make Infuriated a loss.

Think of Infuriated as a “Enrage mechanic”, a Warrior is likely going to reach it if the Warrior lives long enough and once too much time has passed.
And the Infuriated effect itself? A permanent passive self-buff, so long as the Wrath resource is near maximum(nine of ten Wrath), that acts like a one-use “on the next resource-spending attack” buff.

Infuriated - “A over-abundance of internal reaction and external stimulus has escalated into a adrenaline rush.”

And here is where Infuriated acts like a trap again. While active, Infuriated increases damage dealt by 10%, reduces damage taken by 15%, and will activate the Infuriated bonus of the next Wrath-costing Ability or WeaponSkill. To stay in or spend Infuriated? Spend it. To keep Infuriated active would make it a long-term loss and resource waste, except for cases where you can not target the enemy or enemies, and may as well take advantage of its damage reduction bonus.
(side-note: as far as server-ticks go, Infuriated wears off "after" using it, so the 10% damage buff goes into the attack that it is spent on.)

Uncontrollable / just like how Abandon resource is a “negative” resource, the Uncontrollable status is the opposite of Infuriated, a very very bad debuff that the Warrior should make certain to never hit. If the Abandon resource is allowed to reach its maximum of 1000 points, Uncontrollable activates and takes over the Warrior.

Uncontrollable - “the Inner Beast is out of control, causing the Warrior to abandon reason and straight thinking, and succumb to the blind frenzy, to lash out in a uncontrollable rampage against both enemy and ally.”

Uncontrollable acts like the “Confusion” debuff, the Warrior loses all control and schitt hits the fan. Abandon becomes similar to a timer, sort of like counting down from 1000 to 0, where the confusion-like Uncontrollable debuff will have the Warrior attack what ever random target is chosen at random, until or unless a potential target incrues enmity with the Warrior, while the target can be a enemy or a ally, and the Warrior spends abandon points on “out-of-control” attacks, until Abandon hits 0 and Uncontrollable wears off.

To bring this what has now become quite a long post to a close, I could go even further down this rabbit hole of mine, into the exacts of which WeaponSkills and Abilities would grant Wrath resource points, and by how much, as well as what Wrath/Beast Gauge/Abandon costs various WeaponSkills and abilities would have; but my intent behind this post was only to share the concept of Wrath and Abandon, and Beast Gauge all implemented together in a way that works and truly expresses Warrior’s identity, as this could be relevant to the “real” in-game Warrior.

Any further down this rabbit hole, though.. would leave the grey area between in-game Warrior and my ideas, and fully enter the black territory of my personal pet project, “re-inventing Warrior: the way that warrior ought to have been”, which was not quite the subject of this post, that was my intent.

(Side-note: forgive my post being split into the initial post and 5 replies... I created this thread before I knew about the "use edit to pass the 3,000 character-limit" trick.)
