    Harrassment reporting

my feedback is that when someone sends a report a more in depth investigation goes in to effect. Here are the reasons.

1st: Most harassment reports are only one sided. the player placing the report starts the conflict then reports someone once they have trolled that player the player responds that player gets suspend or banned due to the toxicity of that person.

2nd: I have even been harrassed by other players inside dungeons and due to my mental illness it affects how I respond.

3rd: The fact that a report goes one sided, should be fixed if both players had an altercation pull them both into gaol and have a GM talk to both to get the actual story.

4th: We are all playing the game whether it is to relax, let of steam, have a laugh, or to escape entirely from the troubles of the world.

5th: The roles of the GM is to try and maintain a positive game to play if the fact that the toxic player who is starting things and reporting just to upset others like me and a few of my military veteran FC mates or even the non-veterans who suffer from PTSD, by causing emotional distress because this game is an outlet for us to relax when we spent the money to do so and we end up being suspended or even banned due to another players reporting due to that fact it affects us financially and mentally.

    A fix for the issues:

In my opinion both parties involved with the reporting should be placed in Gaol. not just the reported both parties must listen to the GM then plead case. as well when it comes to the privacy of the matter if something was said technically when we are reported we should be able to know exactly what was said not given the generated excuse because I know some people who have been reported for even using swear words that are even used in the game. as well give every player the use of history chat logs because thats not a violation of privacy when someone says it in a public chat.

If I'm reporting someone for harassment the last thing I'd want is to be put in a room with them. I especially don't want to have to take more time out of my game-time to sit in a room to go back and forth, the GMs should have plenty of context from the report and chat logs.

If someone is harassing you or baiting you then report them and blacklist them. If you can't blacklist them and you know you have a mental disorder that makes you want to respond, then change chat tabs so you can't see what they're saying.

1 im not saying they need to be put in the same room 2 sometimes that harrassment cant be fixed by blacklisting, or changing tabs. as well in the past i was harrassed by a person i have even sent in the report to a gm and their response when i even mentioned the chat logs was we aren't authorized to pull up the logs due to privacy policy which does happen quiet frequently I've had quite a few people i know pulled into Gaol for the same issue with the same response. as well there are people out there they harrass you on one account then jump to another if you don't respond or even have thier fc members or friends do the same at least this is very big on exodus.

The mechansim of reporting/punishing ppls in this game Is a mess. For your information only Chat Counts for what i understood. And even then you'll never know if something Will be made on GM side. You could spamm emotes in ppl face, follow ppl around, kick from parties without reason from morning till evening. Probably nothing Is gonna happen. But if you DARE write something, even in response to a personal Attack or harrasment that Is not verbalized, YOU'll get Punished for that.
This Is Just what It Is, i learned to accept It. It's theyr TOS. Find a way to work around It and ignore Ppl Who harras you If that happens.

You should talk about those kind of things with your therapist, not with the FFXIV Community.

Anhra im just looking for a fix. and the fact that you bring up the fact that i need to talk to my therapist for supplying feedback on the reporting system then maybe you should keep your post to yourself.

I've been playing XIV since launch. I'm very vocal in most content and rather foul mouthed while I'm at it, though I've never personally attacked anyone or anything like that. I have never, ever, not once, not ever been reported for any furkin thing. Not ever. It's not luck, I've played across several Data centers and servers, so I think anyone who is posting stuff like this needs to ask themselves "Why did I get reported?" The system sucks, we get it, but do not, for a second, ever think it's about serving you or making the experience more fair. It's about satisfying any liability concerns SE may have, along with any insurance companies that insure them. Point is it's not likely to change. Now, I'm not saying you did anything wrong mind you, but you have to consider that you are interacting with a group of people that have no idea what disabilities or issues you have, so don't expect them to give you any quarter. Read the ToS, know it, obey it and move on.
