We're all capable of doing so, yeah. The question is if we're willing to do it. Most of the time I wasn't. So I just left and read bad fanfiction for my timeout sessions.

Accurate. This roulette is only worth the queue if you have the time set aside for the penalty. Extremes are bad enough, with some being more likely than others for a clear, but the real villain here is Praetorium. That's why Mentor Roulette is always the last thing to do on my daily agenda, so I can just quit and call it a day if I get an Ex-Fight. But yeah, I usually do tell people to take it to the PF before I take my leave.
And sitting there for 15 minutes until you can cast a vote? Naa, thanks. I'm good. I'll just play something else.
I refuse to touch msq roulette for a reason, and seeing Praetorium pop up in mentor roulette is a very silly thing considering it negates the msq roulette bonus.
That said, if you want to participate in any of the endgame(s) of this game, you are beyond the scope of the mentor program. I don’t care if it makes you mad if your df extreme party collapses at the gate; that’s not my concern since you’re trying to df endgame. I’ll happily encourage a hard lesson by eating the penalty so anyone else can escape scott-free.

Mentors aren't defined by their willingness (or unwillingness) to guide new players through the hardest of Extreme trials through a roulette. They are more likely to join a party through the PF to help (I am one of these mentors every now and again) than stick around in the DF just because some randoms went in half-cocked. Why waste our time when our help and time can be better utilized elsewhere?
I usually stick around for a few pulls and gauge the groups ability to listen/follow instructions, and general attitude towards being taught.
It's also worth mentioning that doing old EX trials synched is worthless. You gain nothing, and waste your time (and the time of others) that could be using for modern content, or content that matters.
I believe the two words your looking for are.. Fun and Experience.. alot of people find it fun to run the Exs New and old synced their first time to Experience it before they turn it into a joke by unsyncing..
Plus you gain experience from thr old trials that's used in a lot of the new ones too.. my static is currently going threw Eden and we've used a lot of callouts from old raids and Exs.. were on Shiva and during diamond frost we call out Shiva circles for the drops.. unsycned Shiva Ex you don't even see the Shiva circle anymore.. an not many people do Eden Shiva normal anymore since promise is unlocked.

Players who reached endgame can find enjoyement in doing old exes synced, there are such people. I really find it hard though that someone who just finished 2.0 MSQ and still has various expansions of story to go through wants to spend many hours in between to clear old endgame. Generally they queue for it because the quests tell them to and they have no clue it's endgame and will take time and effort. Usually when you tell them they can just complete the quest unsync and you can run them through that they accept with joy.
