8 man non-savage and 24 man raids are not "elite" tier raiding. They are simply as I explain it to people "a dungeon but with more people". I think people get this idea that this content is hard or you need to invest a lot of time towards it when you really don't.
No, it's not hard, but i still didn't want to do it.
And I raided savage in HW, I don't want to again. As I mentioned before, I raid in another game, I don't want to take two that way. Esp considering I don't really have evenings free *to* run.
I don't *mind* doing stuff with other players. I'm more concerned with side stuff essentially being required. if Eden wasn't an optional unlockable, then sure, fine. Make it part of the main story. I haven't unlocked *anything* because quite frankly, I don't want to.
I didn't want to tomestone farm. That was my biggest problem. I have a grand total of 2 dungeons that'll give them unlocked right now. -_-
And I'm leveling my trusts to level them. I'm getting the gear for alt jobs. I don't mind it, it's pretty mindless. And is something to do.

I don't think you're understanding. The Eden "raids" are not "raiding". They are not a time commitment to learning to clear difficult fights.
They are basically trials you'll run once or twice for tokens and that will be enough.
You probably only need to clear each battle once for story and you'll have enough to boost your ilevel and get through the rest of your MSQ.

It's not. The route to gear up without the side stuff is acquiring tomestones through roulettes and trading those for gear.
And as others have said, Eden Normal and Alliance "raids" aren't really raids. They're designed to be puggable. And there are roulettes for both so they stay pretty active.

Hi, i am in the same situation. And i hate such game design that forces me to grind a meaningless meta currency like the tomestones. I have a 475ish item level and it will take weeks to upgrade it to 490 which is needed for Paghlt'an. And grinding millions of Gil that would allow to buy it from the marketboard will also take a very long time.
Seriously, that's very demotivating, imho.
Cheers

Weeks to go from 475 to 490 is a huge exaggeration. Seriously. It can be done in a day or two, if not sooner, and for free. I would look into the various gearing options available at endgame, because you are clearly not doing something right if it is taking you so long. Also, it would not cost "millions of gil" to get a high enough boost. Heck, you wouldn't even need to buy all of the crafted pieces.Hi, i am in the same situation. Almost every MMORPG has its end game gear grind as a time filler between content releases. It's become a standard part of the genre and is unlikely to change. It's something you'll have to get used to when playing MMORPGs.Hi, i am in the same situation. And i hate such game design that forces me to grind a meaningless meta currency like the tomestones. Tomestones are hardly meaningless when they're giving you access to the best gear you're going to get outside of Savage raiding and you're getting a choice of content to do to earn them. You're looking at a grind regardless of what route you choose to go. Grind the RNG drops from Eden's Promise or Tower at Paradigm's Breach (which will also give tomestones). Grind through Save the Queen (which can also give tomestomes) to get augmented Bozjan gear. Grind out the gil (which can also give tomestones if you're doing it via Gliderskin/Zonureskin treasure maps).
SE will no doubt add gear coffers to 5.1-5.5 quests once Endwalker is released as a gear catch up mechanism for new characters just as they have done for past expansion content once a new expansion is released but it's not going to help your character if you already have Paglth'an unlocked.
You're a WHM from what I see here and on the lodestone, so you have very fast invites. The left side looks mostly fine, the only thing bringing down your ilvl is the right side which is as easy to fix as it gets.Hi, i am in the same situation. The cheapest HQ accessories are rings at 90k each on Shiva, less on other servers. Two rings alone would provide a huge boost for 180k which is not exactly a huge investment. That would bring you above 480, the requirement for e9-e12 normal. Doing two or three of them and rolling on all accessory/ belt tokens will give you enough to get to 490+.
Overall time investment would be roughly 1h or less with queue times included if you have already unlocked them.
If not, you'd have to go through e1-e8 first, although with your first timer bonus you'd get tons of tomes for 490 accessories and e5-e8 will also give you token for 480 gear. After unlocking it, it might not even be neccessary to to go for e9 and beyond.
If you don't want to unlock the Eden raids, doing a hunt train will probably give enough Allegory and Revelation to buy a few accessories and with the Exarchic gear, that should be enough. If a S rank train is up, it doesn't even take an hour; all you need is are the aetherytes in all the zones, being able to fly everywhere isn't even neccessary. There are always people willing to ferry. Maybe add an 80s roulette to that and you should be fine.
That's not even close to weeks or millions of gil.
It's perfectly doable in one evening.
