Game Randomly Crashing

I just got back into FFXIV Online a couple of days ago. The first day I was playing it, it seemed fine with a couple of game crashes (with no errors) and I didn't really worry about it. However, Today and Yesterday it seems that the game is just constantly crashing without errors and I don't know how to fix it. Sometimes I can play the game for a couple minutes before it crashes, other times it will just crash as I'm loading into the game. I have never had an error code associated with any of the crashes so I am quite confused. I have picked up that it might be a GPU problem from some of the research I've done but I am not sure.

In terms of how the game runs, it is really smooth even on high graphics with my Nvidia GTX 1070. I turned the game down to standard to see if it would change anything, but it still crashed with no error.

To prevent repeating previously attempted troubleshooting, what have you tried to alleviate the problem? Does this crash happen when Final Fantasy XIV is the only program running? Also, could you provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

I have tried Re-installing my graphics driver, I tried a clean boot, I've tried changing graphics to the lowest possible, I have tried underclocking my GPU with MSI Afterburner, and I have tried putting FFXIV on High Performance in Graphics Settings. It is really weird how my game closes sometimes, because yesterday I was playing for 2 hours before it crashed, and just now it closed after playing for about 5-10 minutes. (I have also tried allowing FFXIV through the Firewall and even turned it off once, I may be forgetting some other stuff I have tried)

I too have crashes of DirectX11 since the 5.55 patch, running the game in Borderless Window Mode, happens completely randomly.

Good morning and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Have any changes happened to the device before the issue began? We would also like to recommend several other troubleshooting steps:

1) Disable any additional programs that could cause interference with the game itself including chat programs. Also, remove any custom configurations made using graphics driver-level programs
2) Remove any mods or injectors from the game or system
3) Turn off Fullscreen Optimizations. Find the executable file for the game (normally found in the install folder), right-click it and select 'Properties'. Under the 'Compatibility' tab, check the box labeled 'Disable Fullscreen Optimizations', then click 'Apply'.
4) Remove any unnecessary USB or audio devices (controllers, headphones, flash drives etc.)
5) Perform a clean boot by opening the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything
6) Install Windows, Steam, and FINAL FANTASY XIV onto the dame drive (preferably the C:/ drive)

Arohk, if you are experiencing the same issue, please create a new forum post with a System Report for assistance along with any previously attempted troubleshooting. To generate a System Report, simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'
