Clone on Another Server

Hello, first time on the forums; not sure if this is the right location for this but I looked my character up on Lodestone and there is another me. Same name, same preferred hair style, same hair colour, same race (hyur which isn't very popular for female presenting characters) and a level 2 version of my main class..

Now i would totally understand someone being inspired by my name or how I look, but this is a little creepy.

My main concern is can gold bots like copy user information?

I can guarantee this is not an alt I've created and forgot. Anyone else have this happen to them or something similar?

There are differences, unless you have changed your appearance sense finding that L2. (hair style, eye color, etc...)
That said, the "bot" accounts that RMT farming botter/hackers use do not go through the detailed character customization set up, and generally just use the default "Male Derplander" that the game client presents on new character creation.
They want to knock out as much gil as possible as fast as possible, so going through the character appearance setting takes up time that could be used to bot.
Occasionally, they will make a horde of "Male LalaDerps", but that is done just choosing the Lalafel race and finalizing the character, not going into the details of the appearance.

So, finding another player with your "clone" is more likely coincidence or just someone who liked your look.
As they are on a different data center, you and them can't meet up via Cross World, so I doubt it was done as a gag to troll you or such.

Well... Naelyn seems somehow a popular name for a character and Lune (and/or Luna)... is pretty common. Then to find someone who created an alt with the same pair forname/name than yours is not that surprising.

Many players create name based on how it sounds. There's nothing surprising nor creepy. I had alts (deleted since) who accidentaly had the same forname than other characters.

It's even mundane if you consider how many players (and far more if you consider characters and alts) play FFXIV since 2013 (or 2011).

The name doesn't bother me. The way they look doesn't bother me. The fact they both look like my character and have the same name is what's creeping me out. Down to the hairstyle. I used to use the "Aerith" hairstyle religiously. It seems way too much of a coincidence to just be happen stance.

But at the end of the day there's is nothing i can do. I mostly just concern about botting.

If so, don't worry, usually bots are some kind of kgfkiriuf-like name or "johnqsfazefa smithqsfdqs"-like name.

About the name and look, I understand your point but that's exactly why I've commented : they were all miqo'te too with similar look to my alt. It's not strange to have the same preferences for the look if you have the same preference for the name.
