Hey guys,
I'm coming over from WoW after playing it for almost a decade. I came to XIV because the game is more fun for me and the community seems really nice and social.
I'm not saying that I'm a casual player, but I'm definitely not looking for a super serious FC that will have really high expectations of me. In short, I have a full-time day job and I'm a family man. A lot of weekend days I'm able to put in anywhere from 2-5 hours in game. That just depends on the weekend and what things I'm doing with my family.
Through the week I'm usually on around an hour in the evening (EST timezone). With that said, I do have some free time that I can respond to discord messages and stuff along those lines, so planning is always something I can be a part of.
I'm planning on being a tank main, currently a level 39 Paladin, and I enjoy end game events, but I won't be competing at too high of a level at this point in life (lol).
Also, if I can make one small request, please only reach out if your FC is mature. I'm a part of another discord group (unrelated to XIV) and I feel very isolated. I don't want to debate, I don't want to get a ton of meme spam, and I definitely don't want that "normal" discord experience of just shitposting 24/7.
I'm not a party pooper at all, but I just don't get much out of, I guess, zoomer culture where everything is fast paced, conversations fly by without even having the chance to respond, picking arguments over nothing, etc. Basically just stressful stuff. I've just had too many experiences in recent years where it feels as if everyone is competing for the spotlight. It's just a little frustrating for me when I'm looking for a relaxing, fun time.
I'd like a FC that I can relax with, make friends, play content together, and just have a generally good time. Life's challenging enough as it is. I hope that I haven't come off as a prude or anything like that. I support people who want the experience that I'm hoping to avoid, it's just that I'm trying to avoid that myself.
